I keep seeing longtime posters on this board leaving a comment with only a period or a mark.
What is the point of that? Did I miss a memo?

Many times it's where a poster has posted something and then wants to retract the post for whatever reason but cannot so they "edit" it instead and put a period mark.

Not long time poster on the boards, but I do that when I am a slow typist, and the same answer gets posted while I am typing, or was already there, and just not showing when I opened the thread.
Sometimes I make a post, and then have second thought about it. (say it forget it, write it regret it)

Thanks for your reply. I'm a very fast typist and still see the same comments as mine posted afterwards. If I went back to each to retract, I'd never get anything written on here....lol.
