Hiya,
Is there a link or doc file on how to fill in the template?
I have 583 items from an online estore that I would like to list on ebay and hoping there is a way to import them once I figure out the fields on the import template?
Thanks so much
Nancy

FE is not as hard as it looks. Yes, there is a learning curve. Once mastered(?), it is a piece of cake.
I personally consider FE to be the best secret on eBay.
Again, we are here to help you with that learning curve.

Hmmmm I am doing a test one and I get an email saying it worked but the item doesnt show up on my ebay.
Attached is the file... for everything else is metaphysical and needs no condition ... I checked https://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/sellingresources/itemconditionlookup.html
Can someone check my test and let me know what I am missing or doing wrong?
Once I get one working, I can do a bunch 🙂
Thanks so much
Nancy 😉

Lol, here is where the learning curve starts. The email you received was informing you that your upload was successful. Here is an example...
.
This tells you to look in the FileExchangeCenter for the results of the upload execution results file. Look up the File reference number listed. Click on the download link to the far right, the file will download, then click on that file. It will open in excel or your favorite spreadsheet. Then you can see the results of your upload.
Your file...
You did not include a ConditionID. Most items will have a 1000 in that cell for a new item.
The *Location column is for your City, State (text). You can change *Location to PostalCode to use a zipcode.
ShippingType should be 'Flat' for free shipping.
I would also place a '1' in the column ShippingService-1:FreeShipping. (this is optional, but places a free shipping banner on the item image).
Place a zero in the field ShippingService-1:AdditionalCost (this is optional, but surpresses a warning message in the upload results file).
Make these changes and upload again.
Since you have done this well, I will add some info in the next post. Many stop when they see the instructions. You were not intimidated. Great.

Sorry, I did not catch the 'metaphysical', so...
Anyway, you might change the email address when you need to display a screen shot. No one needs to know your paypal email address.
There are several members who can help you with FE. I will not name names, to avoid placing anyone on the spot. Posting on this board will get you an answer, as soon as someone reads the post.
But there are other ways you can get help with FileExchange. There is a team at eBay called the Advanced Apps team. They can definitely help you with any issues. They have the added ability to look directly into your execution results file, to see the cause of any issues. I can not do that.
If you need to speak to the Advanced Apps team...This is from the eBay Advanced Apps team...
Phone Support (US - 8 AM - 6 PM MST): **To call us, click on the Help & Contact link found at the top of most eBay pages. Click on the Contact Us button at the bottom of the page. Select ‘Selling’ -> ‘Getting Started’ -> ‘Selling Tools’ for issues or concerns related to eBay listing tools that my team can assist you with. Now scroll to the bottom and click Call Us. Ask the customer support agent to transfer you to the Advanced Apps team.**
You can also send them an email at...turbodata@ebay.com. Be sure to use the above 9 digit upload results number to refer to whatever issue you have. Include your eBay userid. And email from your registered email address. The above phone method is the best.
Good luck.

Ok here goes, and thanks so much for your patience 🙂
Attached pics but it didnt work. I think it doesnt like something in my description but unsure why?
I couldnt find Place a zero in the field ShippingService-1:AdditionalCost but wow I want it! lol
Nice help there.. when I get it working lol
Also condition for everything else metaphysical I think it not mandatory?
https://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/sellingresources/itemconditionlookup.html but I put in 1000 just in case?
I changed my category id so not sure how it affects is.. I had a hard time finding the id number but found https://www.isoldwhat.com/getcats/index.php?RootID=99&L2C=19266#19266
so hoping that helps.

Oh wonderful! Thank you for the direction to further help.
I kinda gave up on Ebay support as they stopped all contact .. email or phone... for a long time then brought back phone eventually. But when I call for help on it, they dont support it .. in fact I asked about how to upload alot of new products and they didnt mention file exchange at all.
I am hopeful about the support info you gave me... wooo hooo 🙂
Thank you so much :))

You can add the column ShippingService-1:AdditionalCost. You can also delete any columns you do not use, as long as the column heading does not have an '*'. These are required fields.
You can also create the column ShippingService-1:FreeShipping.
OK, now we are going to get a bit 'metaphysical'. This is what many have issues with. Not to worry.
Did you notice that you are trying to create one item, but the errors are on line 3? That means you have LFs (linefeeds) in your file. Linefeeds are supposed to be at the end of line, on MS-DOS csv files, but not within the records. This really stresses FE. It chokes on it.
This usually occurs when text is copy/paste from a word processing program or pdf file.
The field just before 'Green Adventurine' has a LF in it. This causes the line to end, and the next to begin. The first line does not have enough of the required fields to be 'parseable' and the next line (after the LF) does not start with a valid Action (it starts with 'Green').
eBay has a tool to find any LFs in the description, one description at a time. I do not remember where the tool is, but if you need, I will find it.
By the look of your excel widgets, you may know how to use =search and =substitute to find and replace char(10) with a null. Repost if you need more info.

Sorry, those are your system tray widgets. In any case, re-post for any need.

eBay has a downloadable help file that will remove the line breaks from your description text. The tool is linked within eBay's File Exchange help PDF, so it will always be there when you need it. Here is the direct link to the downloadable help tool:
