This is beyond frustrating. Even more so that I have to take time out of my day to make this thread. Seriously, why won't the Ebay app let me disable notifications I uncheck? When I uncheck categories they appear re-checked after I close and reopen the app. My app is up to date.
Disabling all notifications works fine but I want to receive them for when items sell. I don't need Ebay's garbage 'picks for me' spam. Again, this is extremely frustrating and a waste of my time.

You need to adjust your Account>Communication preferences. This is best done on a desktop. I only receive sell, and best offer notifications on my phone. Occasionally I will get the 'picks' you speak of.
The following comes in two parts.
1. How to use your mobile device as a desktop, and
2. How to turn off most notifications.
1. For mobile devices - You can use your device's browser to access eBay, just like a desktop.
Tap your device's browser icon, tap the url (address) line, the type in ebay.com,
Enlarge the page, and Tap Sign in, once you are signed in...

Note: This 'desktop' version allows access to most account options. This is dangerous on mobile devices, which are easily lost or stolen. One should sign out of the 'desktop' version when done.
If your mobile device is lost or stolen, call eBay immediately, and ask them to cancel the session, for that mobile device.
2. Go to Account>Communication preferences. Click on Show All on the top heading. Go thru each section and select the notifications you wish to receive. Be sure to click Save in each section.
Most important is the last section. Choose the options you wish and click Save.
Note you can not opt out of some of the notifications.
Also note that, if you shut off 'Promotions and offers', you will not receive emails about eBay Bucks.
