I discovered a couple of weeks ago that the data shown in the graphs of page view on the traffic tab of my seller's hub do not match the data in the pop up window. Today I noticed the graph of sold items is incorrect, showing no sales since April 19, when I had several sales since then.
Does any one else see such a discrepancy? What is the explanation for this: poor graphing program; graphing one data set, reporting another; or ???
Rather than waste my time with illustrations, when no one else may see this, or care (I care because of my experience reading and communicating with charts), I'll just talk through an example:
For example, reading the chart, a column for a certain day suggests that my listings registered organic and external views combined of over 75 (a tick point on the vertical axis). That column further suggests that promoted listings garnered almost half as many views as organic and external.
The pop up data tell a different tale. The sum of organic and external views on that day were less than 60. Further, promoted listings got less than one quarter as many views as the other two view sources.
The amount by which the chart differs from statistics affects the conclusions I draw. For example, on a certain day I began offering items from a new source. Did views increase, and from what source.
The chart indicates a different day-over change - hence different answers - than the data.
Any thoughts?
