In the summer update, eBay brought up the requirement for all embedded media (images, videos, linked stylesheets) to be hosted on a secure server.
http://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2017summer/listing-policy-updates.html
Sellers can bulk modify listings to comply, except for a critical problem, with File Exchange.
The File Exchange logo is not on a secure server and we have no way of removing that logo through File Exchange because File Exchange puts it right back into the listing.
I assume FE will eventually comply, but we sellers need that right now, not in a few months. Can FE either put the logo on a secure server or remove it entirely from the application? I've noted that it did not auto-insert on a German listing that I revised through File Exchange.
My preference is to remove the logo entirely and instead add a <!--comment--> to the code to make it easy to detect File Exchange modified content.
One of my tools (Bulk Active Content Editor) assists sellers who need to comply with eBay changes, like removing Active Content or contact information. Over a hundred million listings have been corrected by this tool and an untold number have been pushed back through File Exchange. We now have up to a hundred million corrected listings that will have a File Exchange SSL problem, and those sellers, many with no other media in their listings, will now have to revise yet again to remove or change the non-compliant FE logo. But they can't use File Exchange to revise because of the insidious logo insertion. So the sooner it converts, or preferably, disappears, the sooner sellers can get to the task of updating for SSL at the same time they are updating for other policy changes.
Due to the special circumstances, I hope the team will be able to respond positively to this change request on short notice.

Thank you for submitting this request, as the problem had been detrimentally affecting sellers who had been updating their listings through File Exchange.
@dollybeauty, thank you for letting me know the FE logo is now live on HTTPS.
Today, 30 Aug 2017, I performed several tests on revision files sent through File Exchange:
I have updated the Active Content Sandbox tool and Active Content Editor tool today to detect either or both cases and to replace with the https version in a hidden element (when that option is chosen from the tool's filter list). That same selection will also innoculate a new description revision that has never been through File Exchange.
The "innoculation" proactively adds the code for the logo so that File Exchange won't add another, but then hides the logo with "display:none". Below is the innoculation code for those who wish to manually suppress the logo display. Either it should be added to a new description before submitting to File Exchange or existing code in an old listing should be revised to match the code below.

@shipscript - Thank you for posting this concern on this Community board thread.
I have provided this information to our developers to see if the logo can be adjusted to be more editable.
I'll keep you posted on their response.

Are we getting close to a solution to auto-inclusion of the File Exchange logo?

I'm sorry for the delay. There was an update that was mentioned in the ticket that I filed. I didn't get an update directly, so this is why my response is delayed.
Here is the update:
FE logo will not be removed. Instead FE Image URL will be changed from "http" to "https".
Thank you for finding this concern.
We will be converting the “http” to “https” in the FE logo Pic URLs.
To be explicit, instead of image
http://pics.ebay.com/aw/pics/viewitem/fe/imgFePowered_88x33.gif
it should use
https://pics.ebay.com/aw/pics/viewitem/fe/imgFePowered_88x33.gif
instead going forward.
Hope this helps give you insight on the HTTPs changes. We will make sure that all images that we add be in compliant with our new security updates.
**Update** The changes on pending. Not yet live. We do have this type of update in the works.
Sincerely,

Will you let us know when this is live? I have 5700+ listings that will need to be adjusted (for a one letter addition!) I do not wish prospective buyers to my store to see an 'Not secure' message (for any longer than absolutely necessay).

BTW...The 5700 listings mentioned above, can be easily changed (although it is a bother). But the 1300 Unsold listungs that I have will be a constant bother to fix. Everytime I relist unsolds that have come back into stock, I will have to check for this change.
One could hope for a BULK edit of unsolds/ended listings.

@dollybeauty - I would recommend that all sellers consider to be proactive about any upcoming changes to our site and other sites.
If you have already started the process of making sure that your images have the "s" or be on a security server, you're in good shape.
Our system should provide sellers with some help on identifying listings that needs to be in compliance start August 28th. As stated in the announcement. If you don't receive any email, you should be in compliance.
Our developers have stated that come some time in October, Google Chrome will start to show this type of "Unsecured site" message. There isn't a specific date, other than October. I always assume that it would start on the 1st of the month if no specific day is specified.
Hope this helps.
Any other updates that I received regarding this type of changes made to the tools I support, I'll post the update on this Community board thread.
Thank you.

@dollybeauty - Beside the BEAR (Bulk Edit and Relist) tool. This would probably be the only option that we have at this time.
You're right about being a tough situation for "Unsold" listings, but this would fall under that same situation if your listings was "Active". You would still go through the same process of updating the listings.
I'm hoping that there will be a precaution put in place for when you go to relist "Unsold" listings that our system will/should indicate what listings needs to be in compliance.
This should help a little bit.

Thanks. My concern has only to do with the FileExchange logo.
All of my listings are compliant, do not include images in the descriptions, are mobile friendly and have no active content from outside eBay.
I have Shipscript's tools and advice to thank for that!
Additionally, Shipscript deserves Thanks! for catching the FileExchange logo issue!

Guys, I am editing like mad. ISDN tek cannot remove them in bulk.
Approximately 50-% of these "in violation" listings are from POWERED BY EBAY SELLING MANAGER PRO. Why can't YOU remove it, instead of wasting my time?? I could be listing items for sale.
REALLY that's what I'd be doing if it weren't for this trash.
REALLY.

It can be removed. Then eBay just puts it back! This is not an issue with ISDN Tek.
If you want it to not display on your listings, do this...
At the end of your description (if you look at the html), you will see ...
<center> <img= (this is what causes the Selling Manager logo to appear in the center, at the bottom)
Replace with <center style="display:none"> <img= (this will make the logo invisible)
You can do this with the ISDNTek tool or the BEAR editor.
