File Exchange: Adding PicURL for a variation with a space in the name

I have a few variations under RelationshipDetails that have spaces. I am able to upload an image using PicURL for the variations that are a single word, for example when the color is White or Gray.  The PicURL value for these fields are something like White=https://www.company.com/white.jpg.  I have a variation where the value is Silver Tinsel.  What is the correct way to enter my value for PicURL if there is a space between Silver and Tinsel?  I have a feeling that something needs to be enclosed in quotations but I can't find documentation for this and I haven't been able to figure it out.  I have gotten a few different errors depending on whether I used quotes or not and where I placed the quotes. Thanks!

I would rename the image so it would be 1 word.

Silver-Tinsel, silver_tinsel, silvertinsel.

Have a great day.

File Exchange: Adding PicURL for a variation with a space in the name

Thank you kensgiftshop.  That is a really good idea, but I would like to avoid that if possible.  My image file name doesn't have a space in it.  It is only the name of the variation that is causing a problem.  I'd like to be able to use a space in the name of the variation if I can.  If not, I will change the color option to "Silver-Tinsel".  This option is what the user will see in the drop down menu and it really seems like there must be a way to have spaces in that.  It is only because I am using the name with a space before the equal sign that I'm getting an error.

@hattrick15

It is best to name your pictures without spaces, using an underscore or hyphen instead.

However, if you do not have control over the photos that are already on a server, then  you will need to use the encoding symbol for a space, which is %20

So to use this URL in File Exchange

https://www.company.com/silver tinsel.jpg

Add it to File Exchange like this:

https://www.company.com/silver%20tinsel.jpg

If you are asking about the left-hand value, then you have correctly written the variation URL.

The color "Silver Tinsel" in your PicURL is correctly written.

Silver Tinsel=https://www.mycompany.com/silver-tinsel.jpg

If you are receiving an error on that line, check the Silver Tinsel reference in all places to make sure it is spelled identically everywhere and has no extra spaces at the end, and make sure there are no line breaks hidden in any of the cells.

I checked for line breaks and to make sure that the names were the same in every place.  Everything seemed OK.  I ended up removing the space and using parentheses instead and it worked.  For example:  Silver(Tinsel)=http://www.mycompany.com/silver-tinsel.jpg.  I have a question submitted to eBay to find out if there is a way to leave the space in the left hand value. I will update if they answer.

This is the error I get from the space in the left hand value:

"Error - Variation Specifics provided does not match with the variation specifics of the variations on the item.|"

Error code 21916664.

I wonder if the problem is due to using a reserved word like "Color".

There are some predefined Item Specifics in some categories, and using a predefined Item Specific as the name of a variation can cause issues.

I just used color as an example.  We add a piping trim to our products and the variations are named Piping, not Color.  I think Color should be OK, though. It is one of the examples in the File Exchange Advanced Template Instructions.
