Failure 37 Error - Input data for tag is invalid

I'm trying to run a single-item test upload through file exchange and I keep getting the following error:

"Error - Input data for tag <ExternalProductID.Type> is invalid or missing. Please check API documentation."

I've tried everything I can think of, and it keeps coming up.

Is there *anyone* out there that has any experience with this issue?  I need to upload / revise 1200+ items asap, so ANY help would be appreciated!!!
