Date of origin vs creation in Item Specifics

What is eBay refer to with its date of origin vs creation in its Item Specifics? What's an example of when these would not be the same?

The Item Specifics are not well defined in the Collectibles > Advertising category.

I'm going to guess that originals would share the same date, and reprints would not.

So perhaps:

"Date of origin" is the date of the original ad.

"Date of creation" is when it was printed (or reprinted).

or the other way around.

This looks like a question for the taxonomy group.
