@pristine10_auctions asked in another post:
Hi, can anyone confirm this bulk upload will work for sports cards currently? I can envision myself filling out this CSV file with hundreds of lines and then in typical Ebay fashion, it will fail and wasted hours for nothing....
Yes, eBay's bulk Uploader within Seller Hub "Reports" does support bulk uploads of sports cards.
But don't start with hundreds for your first test, just upload one or two variations and use the revision option to fill in the remainder until you are satisfied your file is correctly populated.
Start on the Uploads screen here:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/reports/uploads
Select a template for your category (probably Sports Cards Singles) and download the template to your computer. Your category path will probably be:
> Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop
> Sports Trading Cards
> Trading Card Singles
If you choose the XLSX format, the file will include droplists of all of the available options for the parent record, which is extremely helpful. You can then add child rows for each variation in a single listing.
The documentation for filling out the parent record can be found here:
https://ir.ebaystatic.com/cr/v/c1/rsc/feeds/v1/guide-inventory-onboarding.pdf
Once your data is populated, save your spreadsheet in CSV format for upload to eBay.
The only real issue will be photos. If you have an external image host, you can upload images to that external server and include the hosted URLs in the spreadsheet file. If you don't have an external server, then you can add an online placeholder image to the parent record and manually revise the listings to upload images from your desktop to eBay's listing tool.

The failure message is saying that the concatenated "Relationship details" in the master/parent row does not match the list of variations that has been provided. To check the values, you may want to download the source document from the same screen where you obtained the error document.

THANK YOU!!
I found, and fixed, the issue!

I continue to use the bulk spreadsheet with good results. I do have one question.
When I upload the spreadsheet, the eBay listing shows my location as a city/state where I used to live. But, in the spreadsheet, I have my current city/state. Do you know where else I should check to fix this?
I've been fixing it manually but I'd like to find the remedy for this.
Thanks!

Start here and look through your addresses. Some settings allow multiple addresses, so remove any that no longer apply.

I checked all of those addresses and they're all correct.
Thanks!

Hi @nygiants20 ,
What is the address that shows incorrectly on your listings and what is the correct address? Is there an item number you can give? The address that you enter in the Location column should generally be the address that is used as the item location on the listing. Does your file have another column with one of the headers below?
PostalCode
OriginatingPostalCode
ShipFromPostalCode

Could you please explain the differences in the four location fields and how they are treated in the Seller Hub version of File Exchange? In FileExchange, "PostalCode" precluded using "Location". Is there a difference between a "revision" and "add" when trying to use those fields. I was unable to use PostalCode in a revision.

The spreadsheet template that I use doesn't have any of those column headers. The only relevant column is labeled "Location."
It has my current city/state. This is the latest item number that I created,

195194728995. In the shipping area, where it says "Located in," the listing is correct but when I first create a listing using the spreadsheet this will show where I previously lived in Virginia. I can easily edit the location but it'd be nice to have one less thing to do.Thanks! The item location I see on that listing is Denver, North Carolina. I don't see that any revisions have been made to that listing. Is that the correct item location? It doesn't appear that that item was listed with Seller Hub Reports (File Exchange). Is there a listing that still shows the old location? If so, could you please let me know the item number.

- Location
- PostalCode
- OriginatingPostalCode
- ShipFromPostalCode
Hi @shipscript ,
Sellers can enter a custom location (usually city, state, but not necessarily so) in the Location field; it is generally best not to enter a zip code there. The three other fields are just for an actual zip code or postal code. From what I've seen, OriginatingPostalCode and ShipFromPostalCode just work with calculated shipping (they don't work with flat shipping) and you would also need to enter something in the Location field (the item location that shows on the listing would be generated based on the zip code). I prefer to use PostalCode; it works with both flat and calculated shipping and you don't need to also include Location.
As for revising to change the item location, I would not expect there would be a problem when using PostalCode with your zip code. If you could provide more information (item number, what was used for the item location originally, what was in your revision file, and any error message), I could take a look.

Yes, Denver, NC is correct.
This screenshot shows the incorrect info at the bottom. This is from a test that I did. I change this info while editing the listing.

I had my results backward in my prior post. I could use the PostalCode, but not the Location field to revise.
The File Exchange documentation describes the "Location" as state and country, so there is no guidance for adding city and state. A week ago Sunday, a seller asked if he could change the item location in bulk because he had moved. I ran a bunch of tests that Sunday that failed. I just now ran the tests again (below are my upload files) - there were no processing errors (only payout warnings) :

One member said they had to add the zip to get the Location field updated (where the listing displayed city, state zip) but later received eBay warnings that the item location was missing. I have only been successful using the PostalCode in a revision. Am I formatting the Location field incorrectly? The original listings were created with a sell-similar, bouncing back and forth between Business lister and Unified lister (trying to get the Standard Envelope shipping option to appear).

Hi @nygiants20,
The item location should be "sticky." After changing the location and submitting, I would expect that the new location should be remembered when you create new listings. Is the old location still appearing when you create new listings? Or are you seeing this when using "relist" or "sell similar"? If you're using "relist" or "sell similar," the location shown would be the location used on the original listing.

Hi @shipscript ,
Revising a listing to change from a zip code (column header PostalCode) to a custom location (column header Location) is a bit tricky. You have to remove the zip code so that the custom location can be added in it's place. I expect that it will work for you if you use the following:
| Action | ItemID | Location | DeletedField |
| Revise | (new location) | Item.PostalCode |

Hi @shipscript
I'm hoping you can help me again with my bulk uploader spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet value for card condition is now being rejected when I try an upload.
The old value that I had previously used was "3000-Used" but this no longer seems to work.
Do you know what I should use in it's place?
Thanks!
