1st Images not in search results - Inconsistent Gallery Picture Upload - Error Code 25

I have been revising and uploading products to eBay only to find all of my product images do not appear in the eBay search results. I am experiencing Gallery Error Code 25.

When I google Gallery Error Code 25 I can see the issue was first raised in May 2017. 6 years ago almost to the day, why is this even still an issue? Surely eBay have a solution to this by now? How can you know about an issue for 6 years and not have a solution?

Called eBay and they have told me 2 weeks ago that “Our technical team is aware of the issue and they are looking into it”.

Does anyone have any other solutions to this issue?

I have 50k+ listings so fixing the issue 1 listing at a time is not an option and I do not want to end all my listings as I will loose the sales history.

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.

ERROR 25 issue is now 6 years old

All of the error codes are more than 15 years old. But they do occasionally pop up whenever eBay changes their programming.

I don't see listings for this seller ID. Are you uploading your images in bulk from an external image server?

If so, that external server may be unable to respond to eBay's requests in a timely fashion. That is the typical scenario when gallery images fail to appear.  And the failures may be random, with the failures and successes on the first attempt differing on the second attempt.

And now that eBay allows 24 photos per listing, I suspect the load on their servers has doubled, so the transfer timing may be even tighter.

In the old days, when an external server failed to respond to a request for a photo, eBay's server would try again. Now eBay tries only once, and if the transfer fails, the listing will use the seller's URL to display the externally hosted photo, instead of transloading the image to eBay servers. If eBay can't capture the photo, photos may still appear in the listing (externally hosted), but there will be no gallery image in search.

Because the gallery image was a different process, eBay used to try again later to capture a gallery image, and also had a "fix your gallery picture" function for sellers to resubmit the request.  I suspect that is where the process is failing.

seller_tools_team@ebay   What is the status of the "fix your gallery picture" tool? The link appears at the top of the listing, but does not provide any functionality. Why is it presented as an option if it no longer exists? Not one of the three links on the "see details" page leads anywhere useful.

(In this test listing from Aug 2019, I intentionally offered a bogus first image for a File Exchange upload. All photos remain hosted on an external server. None transloaded to eBay. If the fixit tool existed, it would not work here because the URL is bogus.)

1st Images not in search results - Inconsistent Gallery Picture Upload - Error Code 25

Hi Shipscript,

We use Magento to hold all our product data, then using M2Epro we feed products onto eBay & Amazon via 1 data set.  About 14 days ago we upgraded Magento to the latest version and moved server it was about then that the issue started occuring and kinda confirms it is our server speed that is the issue. We migrated servers but kept the same spec.  Thank you for your insight you have confirmed what I suspected, that it was the server migration.

I will contact the server hosts and ask them to look into this.

Thanks again.

Martyn
