policy and procedures for items not as described

If an item is not as described, such as a recently purchased framed duck stamp, and I can't get a good picture of the damage, can I open the frame to take a better picture.  I know eBay says to return items in the original condition but the pics do not show the warping of the stamp due to water damage.  That's why I purchased it, because it looked normel.  I'm afraid if I open the frame, eBay will side with the seller.  Help!

Just post a picture.

Dont open it .... No person will look at it.

They just want a photo. ANY photo will do.

eBay doesnt examine anything.

@klhmdg

You are wrong. eBay has bots that examine people's listings.

If you think it is NAD I would return it. I would not open it. If you are not happy with...return it.

Is the seller making you take a photo? A buyer does not have to take a photo of damage.

I can understand about a duck stamp...condition is very important. And sometimes you cannot see if the stamp is perfect when you see it close up. And if stamp is damaged on the back...no gum...hinged...well, it might be not as valuable. Or you can ask the seller for a partial refund if you want it.

I'd not open it. If you feel compelled to attach a photo, you can 'right click/save' a pic from the listing and upload it.

The bot triggers on keywords, not even sentences or phrases, and it doesn't see pictures, watch videos, or listen to audio.

A seller cannot make a buyer do anything but ebay can

in some instances, the eBay "return process" requires a photo to be submitted to proceed with the return request.

Bots or ebay do not examine a picture uploaded within a return.
