fraudulent returns???

What is a buyer supposed to do when the seller accuses them of switching a pair of shoes in order to get a refund?   I have never been accused of anything like this and it feels terrible.

The shoes (Danskos) started falling apart within a couple of hours of wearing them.  I sent a photo to the Buyer right away who become a bit hostile and then just ignored the problem.  About two later, I am requesting a refund and the Buyer has now written to Ebay that they don't believe my story and think I am trying to return a different pair of shoes.

This is very frustrating.   I have an excellent record of over 20 years.

fraudulent returns???

Assuming you are within the 30 days since the delivery.

Go to your eBay Purchase History and open a return case. Select "Item is Not as Described" as the reason for the return.

If it requires you to upload a photo to the return case you will need to do that.

Seller will be required to provide a prepaid shipping label IF they want the item back before refunding.

Come back here with any or all questions you might have throughout this process.

You don't have to go back and forth communicating with the seller.

If you've opened an item not as described case, you will need to return to the case and ask eBay to step in.

Do not engage in any further discussion with the seller.

If you open the case, and the seller refuses to send you a prepaid shipping label, eBay will refund you from the seller's funds and tell you to keep the item.

Have you read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers?

Don't be frustrated. Fall back on your Money Back Guarantee. It's iron-clad for buyers when used properly. Good luck.

fraudulent returns???

Danskos are prone to dry rot. Sometimes they don't show signs unless you bend or wear tbe bottom and sometimes exposure to extreme temps during shipping can make them fall apart of they had dry rot. Is very possible the seller did not know they had dry rot and legitimately thinks they sold you a good pair. But I agree with everyone on Item Not as Described return.

I once sold a pair of what looked to be pristine Sketcher Shape Ups. They looked new. I didn't know they had dry rot in the middle of the sole and didn't bend them to check. So when a buyer told me they fell apart when she went to Wear them I doubted the story. She showed pics and they were my shoes. I researched and learned that these shoes, like Danskos are prone to dry rot. I apologized and refunded her in full immediately and she was very understanding that it was an honest mistake.
