eBay returned item to wrong address for a return

I recently moved not long before selling this item which turned out not to be what the buyer wanted so I accepted the return with the intention of reselling it when I got it back. I did not receive it because eBay put the wrong address on the return label. They have canceled my selling rights and deducted the amount of the sale out of my account and I never received the item. I have contacted the USPS who says the item was delivered to the old address however the current occupants of the residents claim they did not receive it. So now I am out $200 and can t sell any thing more although I changed the address prior to even selling the item. I ve tried to open another appeal because the first was denied and I cannot get to the details where you touch the little orange dot it just times out. I have been trying to get this resolved for over a month can you please help me

When I have a return I get a notification about the return and when I go to the return details, there is a spot to verify the return address........did you not have that? 

Also you may have to change the address for returns in your account, it's not obvious.   Go to your account settings (the pull down menu by your name on your eBay page) and then go to addresses, you might want to make sure and change all of them while you are there.

The shipping address on my account is the correct address not the old address. It's the only address that is there anymore as shipping selling returns everything is listed as the new address.

Go to your case details, at the bottom of page, there is the address eBay used. Case was opened with this address shown on your eBay account as your shipping address. This was done by software. 

Follow the tracking and see when the item was delivered. Check with your old address's Post Office and make sure of delivery. USPS & eBay have no reason to give you false information but current occupants of your old address are!

Unfortunately, Item is lost. Meaning: current occupants of your old address have it and they are denying  possession. Let the occupants know that you're filling a Police Report and you need their help. Your package might magically show up.

There are 5 addresses at this link here. And the return address is correct?

Because it seems eBay has it as the old address @lorroac_6 so the return went there.

I have already done this as well. So what can I do to get my item replaced or my money back? This through no fault of my own. I really can't afford this loss right now. The buyer was given a return address twice, once from when I shipped package and again by email when discussing a return. eBay printed the return label after I changed my address in the eBay app. What can I do? I can't file a dispute because they've already refunded and closed the case. I'm just screwed?

No I updated my address prior to buying a return shipping label from them. And I realize it went to the old address but new occupants have stolen it apparently. And yes I filed a police report.

I can't see any way that ebay would have the wrong address unless you neglected to change it in your account.

I put an item up for sale, (old address), item sold,  I moved, I changed address buyer requested refund, I bought return label from eBay, they printed old address, item ships to old address....I don't understand your confusion.
