So I canceled a return order bc i did not receive the item listed. I need to know if that will disrupt the sellers refunding process.
He told me I would get a refund but (bc I'm a bit skeptical) I started a return request but then I canceled. Will this disrupt the refund process?

If you did not receive the item, why would you open a "return" order, since there would be nothing to return?
What you should have opened was an "item not received" case.
But, by canceling the "return" case, you may also have sabotaged your ability to open an "item not received" case.
The result being, you may not be receiving the refund that the seller promised you, since you may no longer be able to open a case of any kind.
You may have to dispute the purchase through your credit card company, or whatever other venue you used to make your payment.

Isn't it correct @1786davycrockett to start a return request for "did not receive the item listed"
-- but did receive something else?
And wouldn't it be fraud to "you should have opened an "item not received" case"
-- when OP did receive something?

In his original message here, did not see where the OP stated that he did receive something, but it was the wrong item. "I cancelled a return order because I did not receive the item listed."

"So I canceled a return order bc i did not receive the item listed."
By the manner in which the OP has written that sentence, it is not entirely clear whether the OP received anything -- or, on the other hand, something other than what the OP had ordered.
Obviously, if the OP had received something different from what the OP had ordered, the OP should have opened a "Not as described" case, rather than an "Item not received" case.
The OP, however, has stated that he had initially opened a "Return" case, but then had canceled that case, after communicating with the seller. And my understanding has been that, by canceling an open case, the OP has voided the possibility of opening up another case against this seller for that item.
Perhaps @hersantiag0 can clarify if something was actually received in the first place, and whether the OP had initially opened a "Not as described" case against the seller, so that we can fill in some of the apparent holes in the story.

You should have of filed an INR case. Why were you planning to return an item if you never got it in the first place? Did the seller provide a tracking no? If they did and you didn't receive it, you shouldn't get a refund. It is up to the buyer to provide a safe area for the item to be shipped to. You post is a bit all over the place, no disrespect. If you didn't receive it I suppose you do a chargeback on what ever method of payment you used to pay for the item. I would be careful with doing to many of those types of refunds.
Hope this is helpful
Have a great day
