Returning an Item

The seller sent me a prepaid label to return a CPU. Thing is, it's a personal label, there was no return initiated, and it was sent through ebay's messages. I'm not sure if that's how it's done. Usually as a seller, I initiate an ebay label or attach a personal label's tracking to the item. I haven't sold anything in years so maybe it's different now.

The seller can't initiate an ebay label unless a return was opened.  Most times a return is done through the ebay system and the seller uses ebay labels but they are allowed to issue their own label.     You did not open a return?

If you use that label without opening a return, the seller has no accountability.

File a return case with eBay.  That way your doing it the right way and are protected.  If there is a problem with it be sure to file an item not as described case.

I did not. I asked then if I should so the tracking number can be added, but they said no since they already sent a prepaid shipping label to me.

You have to open a return through ebay, without an open return the seller shares no accountability and can easily withhold the refund even if you ship the item back so open a return and then follow the process.
