Had confirmed with seller that they would accept return, started the return but the seller asked me to change the reason why.  Went into the return but there was not an option to update info, So I thought if I just canceled the reurn I could then start over.  But now it just says reyurned closed and says I cant start a return.  can anyone help.  The seller said they contacted Ebay but it would not be reviewed until the 23rd (today is the 18)

Oops. You can't just start over. Maybe you should open a Return on PayPal. You'll have to pay return shipping, but that might be what your seller was trying to make you do anyway. Good luck.

What is your reason for returning? Why would the seller ask you to change the reason?

Once you cancel a return, that option is gone.

Try this;

Open an eBay page 

Top left corner, click on 'help & contact'

Click on 'buying'

Bottom of the page, left side, Click on 'returns and refunds'

Click on top of the page 'return an item for a refund '

Go to bottom right of the page, in very small print click on 'have us call you'

You'll get a call in 2-8 minutes 

 

You've been opted out of return process and need to get back to it. Contact eBay within 30 days of receiving your item. That's all the time you have for a return. 

You buy a lot on eBay. Mention that in your conversations with eBay rep. Seller has tricked you!

I'm guessing you filed an INAD and the seller wanted you to change the reason for the return, so they wouldn't have to pay the return shipping.

Since you closed the return, there's nothing else you can do on Ebay.

You can try filing a claim with your payment source.

Thanks,  I did find on a completely diffenet page with the notation was you close a return you can not reopen it.  Made a point of letting Ebay know that bit of info should be on the page where the option to close the return is.  Yes this all started with the type of reson and how pays for the return shipping I had already agreed to pay for the shipping.....I'm hoping we can work this out without Ebay.  Thanks for your feedback

Have finally talked with a rep. yep once closed no going back.  Ebay can not reverse the process.  Should have had a warning about the repercussions of closing a return on the same page not buried on a separate page.  I had agreed to pay the return shipping but the reason I chose was making the Seller pay the shipping and we were just trying to correct that.  Thanks for you feedback!

Yep that was the reason and I had already agreed to pay the shipping just chose the wrong reason and didn't realize the outcome.
