I know you can not reopen a return once resolved but I have a bit of a tricky situation. I purchased a laptop & when it arrived there was a dot on the screen, I contacted the seller and opened a return but before this could be processed the dot disappeared and there was no further issues so after a week i closed the return. It's been a couple weeks and now a completely different issue has popped up that can't be resolved and I need to return the item. It is under guarantee so I know I can do this but I would feel much better having confirmation of a return / refund being processed before I pack it up and send it back to the seller. Is there any way around this? If the sellers refund it on their end will I get some sort of confirmation? Can they even do this if I closed the return on my end?

Yes, if the seller issues a refund you'll receive an eBay message. Yes, sellers can issue returns after cases are closed.
If it's "under guarantee", isn't it more like a return for repair/replacement? I don't know how your seller works those...

Hey, thank you for your reply, that is helpful to know.
I did request a replacement with the same model but they advised that they don't have another one and they would issue a refund instead. Replacement would have worked better for me as now I need to go shopping again!

There is only one opportunity to open a return case on eBay and since you used that and closed it, you are out of options per eBay. The money back guarantee is only a one time guarantee. You can always message your seller and see if they are willing to work with you but they are no longer obligated to. Best of luck to you....

You are at the mercy of the seller. There is, as you know, no recourse thru eBay, though you can be refunded thru eBay by the seller.

Hi @jojomoss93
IF you paid with a credit card ... AND you return the laptop to the seller with tracking ... you can always phone your CC company and request a chargeback if the seller doesn't refund you within a reasonable time period.

Hey, the item is under a guarantee for 12 months so they do have to refund, replace or repair, I just really wanted to know if I could get confirmation of it is all, for peace of mind! Thank you

You must have purchased from an authorized Distributor of the product.

Here is the link to the MBG from eBay. It is for 30 days only. If this seller is offering a 12 month guarantee for repairs, then that is something only that seller can offer, and no one here can advise you on that for your own peace of mind. We can only state the policies for this platform. Best of luck to you....

You say there's a 12 mo guarantee so they do have to refund replace or repair.
No,,,,,,there is no way to enforce that through eBay.
You can't reopen a closed return and even if you didn't close it there's no Money Back Guarantee for 12 months. That would have to be a warranty through the manufacturer if the seller was an authorized distributor or SquareTrade if you purchased a warranty.
