Hi,
I'm afraid this customer is trying to scam me. I sell used jewelry and she bought 5 large bags from me and asked specifically for all necklaces. I packed the large bags with an overabundance of necklaces. Anyway it was delivered today and she messages me insisting she got junk jewelry (broken pieces, pieced together trash, junk)... And she claims she received small bags. I've tried to think objectively but there is no way those pieces got all broken and I know she's lying because of her saying jewelry was pieced together, that's not true.
These are out and out lies. These were probably the best bags I ever made because she ordered 5 and mentioned she was a reseller I was trying to be nice.
I don't know what to do if anything.
Do I respond?
Do I tell her to return it? Does she have to open a return request? I'd like to see how she could produce 15 pounds of broken jewelry to send me back. When it would get back here I'm sure it wouldn't be what I sent and how can the weights match? Would that matter?
Is there a way to proactively notify eBay?
I'm embarrassed to admit, this actually hurts my feelings. I need to toughen up.
This is the first time this has happened. I've never even had a return request. Does she have to open one or is her notifying me of the issue enough?
Thanks in advance,
Jaime

She has to open up a claim. Do not respond.
Do make her return the stuff. Make her expend the effort involved.
Unfortunately, if she removes or replaces some or even all of the pieces there's probably not a lot you can do about it, what with the way Ebay treats sellers these days about issues like this, except report her for a false claim, which probably will result in nothing either, unless she has a history of it.
My sympathies and the hope somebody will come along with a better solution.

For the future, you might want to consider restricting the number of listings a buyer can purchase at the same time.
Definately, put her on your blocked buyer list for what good it might do.
