Need help figuring out status of order

I recently won a bid for an item and immediately paid afterwards. After waiting for an update I am getting the status of the item as three different things depending on where I look.

The first is the email sent to me about the updated order with it saying my order is being shipped, this is also reflected in the timeline when viewing the order details.

The second is on the purchase history where it says "You've requested to cancel the order", which I do not recall doing but may have by accident when pursuing various support articles.

And the third is that when I click on view details from the purchase history is says seller wants to cancel due to out of stock and we are processing the refund.

A couple of questions:

Firstly, which of the above options is the right status of my order?

Secondly, how can the seller cancel the order when I received the email saying the item was shipped?

Thirdly, I assume this is the case but still want to ask, does the full refund include shipping even if the item is claimed as shipped?

Why don't you email the seller  and ask them what is going on?   Maybe he ran out and printed the label BEFORE he even packed the item.   If he responds and tells you that he ran out, then he has to give you a full refund.   IF the item was shipped, just watch to make sure that it's actually moving. If 24 hours pass after the estimated delivery date and there is no movement, then open an item NOT received case.  You will be refunded.   But again, it's best to ask the seller if he has the item and if he is going to ship or if he already shipped.

Hopefully, this seller is not in China.

@xhpie0 When a seller prints a shipping label, eBay auto sends that email to the buyer saying your item has been shipped. It doesn't actually mean the item was dropped off, just means a label was printed. Your seller most likely quickly printed the label with the intention of shipping but realized they were out of the item, or it broke packaging.

They have canceled for out of stock, meaning you will receive a full refund. You will not be out a dime as the transaction was actually never fulfilled. Just give it a few days and you should see your refund in the method of payment used. Best of luck to you....

Honestly wish eBay would change the language to something like. "Seller has created a shipping label and your order is in the process of being shipped." Instead of straight saying it was shipped right when you print out a label.

I'm one of those that typically prints labels really fast and most people think my items shipped a day before they actually shipped.

The tracking shows proper information though, I just don't like the 'status', I think there should be an in between, status should change to 'shipped' once tracking shows movement.

Anyways, OP, like explained to you by @lamber9347 who explained things correctly based on my understanding. You should receive a full refund from eBay for this.

Also note, 'out of stock' cancellations are monitored seriously by eBay, so the seller most likely did not make this choice lightly.

Need help figuring out status of order

Update:

Looks like Ebay has (or has not?) reviewed the refund request and sent me an email saying there is no refund and that I am able to get a full refund if I receive it?

So now on my purchase history it says Order Cancelled whereas if I click view details its says order is still active.

Why does the purchase history not reflect the current status of my order?

Why do I get conflicting information depending on where I am looking at for the status of my order? My order can't both be cancelled and not cancelled at the same time.

Is this not how Ebay is attempting to communicate to me about the current conditions of my order so wouldn't it make sense to make the information presented to buyers/sellers crystal clear within these fields regarding the status of their order?

With that being said, I am going to assume that the purchase history does not reflect the current status of the order since it doesn't make sense why I would be the one to cancel the order for an out of stock/damaged item since I would have no knowledge of that.  And with this ordeal that I am just getting a taste of Ebay's archaic form of communication.
