I'm in New Zealand. Bought something of Ebay for the first time. Some electronics equipment for ~$150.
Package arrives. But it's some random cheap joystick component - not what I ordered.
The ebay store seemed reputable. Sold with ebay international shipping, and "ebay money back guarantee".
I've contacted the seller via the ebay chat. They suggested I raise it with ebay. So I started a return due to wrong item.
I've downloaded and printed the return label (DHL). But the weight on the label is only 0.2kg, whereas the item needs 0.3kg for return postage. I've messaged the seller via ebay chat to provide another label. But haven't got a response yet.
I'm pretty unsure about the process here. Seems likely that I'm being scammed, but I'm not able to raise anything or contact anyone at ebay until I ship the return.
I would very much appreciate your thoughts on what to do next!

Seller replied:
> eBay contacted me and said that they are taking care of the return on my behalf and there is no action needed from me as this was an international order. Please reach out to them as I do not have any way to assist in this manner.
Of course I am also unable to contact ebay - so I'm stuck.

The return label is an automatic thing, I don't think the seller can make any adjustments to it. Also, for international sales that are sent through the "ebay International Shipping", ebay really does take over and handle the return, it is completely out of the seller's control. In both cases, your seller is doing everything that they can do for you, which is nothing more than messaging you and attempting to keep you informed.
I don't believe your seller is scamming you at all. Be sure to follow all the steps that EBAY gives you to follow during your return process, and everything should be just fine. Go ahead and use the label that was sent to you...any excess shipping charges will be billed back to ebay, not to you, and not to the seller.

If it was shipped Ebay International Shipping, Ebay takes care of everything, nothing the seller can do.
Has DHL said they won't accept it, or are you just going by the weight shown on the label?
You might try contacting Ebay through their FaceBook page.
