Hi Trinton, Alan & team.

Any chance I can get a reply to post #25 from last week's chat?

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Weekly-Chat-with-eBay-Staff/Weekly-Community-Chat-June-21st-1pm-PT-Pro...

As I'm sure you're aware, changes happening unannounced by eBay is a sore spot for sellers. This particular situation would be a good change, but it would still help to be notified when it happens.

General comment: can we please strive for better communication from eBay to sellers?

Thanks!

In general, clear and consistent communication is something we work on daily, to various degrees of success ;). With regards to #25, we're looking at leveraging Community Announcements as well as the eBay for Business Blog as outlets for these types of updates. Thanks for this feedback, it helps us make a good case for others to get us information to pass on to you!

Thank you, Tyler. If you ever need support from the Community to help make a case, please let us know. I know I'm not the only one who is more than willing to provide specifics if you need them. I appreciate that your team is trying to make some improvements for us, especially in the area of communication, and if we can help to make that happen we need only be asked.

Absolutely - you guys help us get a lot done, and quickly: from content changes and outdated help pages to getting on the horn with tech issues to policy changes. You guys are amazing!

Question about TRSP status in 2 parts...

1st I live in Maine. This winter we had a bunch of big storms including a recorded blizzard in Apr., so during the storms I contacted eBay to let them know that I can't ship that day. I was told that me TRSP was safe, that eBay takes storms into account.

Two months later I lose my TRSP due to not uploading my tracking numbers within my handling time frame. I contact eBay. I'm told that because I didn't get the tracking uploaded I lose my TRSP regardless of the fact that I couldn't upload them because I didn't ship yet due too the storm. I was also told that the system is automated so no one can reverse it.

2nd How can a seller have a posted handling time of 1 day, and post in their listing that all items are shipped within a week due to their work schedule, and still maintain a TRSP status?

Hi,

It looks like the "big sellers" get treated differently?

The duplicate listings are not taken down?

This is how the big sellers do it... they list the same item multiple times with different titles a few cents diffrence in price, so they show up as best match on the first page with all their listings... of course they sell.

The small seller have no chance...

I reported sellers doing it and I hear always the same " we take care of it... it can take awhile...
Nothing has happend in weeks now, they are still selling...

Those guys don't have the item in stock, they get 100nds of negative per day.. and still they can do what they want.

It is frustrating...

I want to take a look at the examples you have seen to make sure appropriate action is taken. Look for an email from me here shortly!

I am friendly with a "BIG" seller who told me he always lists dupiicates and all you (ebay) does it hide the others (the first listed one shows and the others are hidden til that one sells).  He does dozens of each item he lists, STILL after 4 years of me telling him to stop.

ME?  If I list 2 of something by mistake and I get suspended.  I can't wait for ebay to start auto-relisting my dups I find and cancel.  That will be the death of me - probably pop a blood vessel and die on the kitchen floor because of ebay

If a INR dispute is opened against a seller and the item has no tracking what is the timeframe a seller is allowed before ebay takes action? 24 hours or 3 days your emails sent to sellers say 3 days, but your closing disputes and issuing strikes in 24 hours and making claims its a test is that common practice testing things on unknowing sellers that cause monetary loss?

Hi @bubbleman2010 - this is similar to a question we received earlier, response here: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Weekly-Chat-with-eBay-Staff/Weekly-Community-Chat-June-28th-1pm-PT-Gen...

tyler@ebay

It should be noted that it isn't any INR filed against a seller that does not provide tracking.  The "test" applies if the seller does not provide tracking AND the INR is being filed a minimum of FIVE days AFTER the stated ETA on the purchase.  This is what Trinton posted on the other thread we were participating on.  I isn't for every INR filed that doesn't show tracking.

Over the last few days there have been several threads about the search engine "steering" the searcher to specific categories and how that affects both the buyer and the seller.

The number one issue is that it is not CLEARLY stated that the results being seen are filtered by a list of categories that the searcher did not initially select.

When the search engine starts limiting the categories it should be very clearly stated in plain explict language with a large button to return to All Categories.

The eBay search engine used to be the best on the planet. You got exactly and only the results you request.

That is long gone. Now, not only do you get dozens/hundreds/thousands of results that don't contain all the keywords given in the search, but there are often results that seem to contain NONE of the keywords provided.

If eBay is going to monkey with search results, at least give us a flag we can set saying "I don't care what YOU think I want to search for; give me only the results that match my keywords."

The My eBay All Selling page still has an Annoucements section that has not been updated since October 24, 2016

If you click on the "See all eBay annoucements" link in that section, you are taken to the Home page of the eBay Community which shows Latest Discussions.

While this is fine for those of us who know how to navigate the boards, it's pretty awful for those who don't and rely upon the Announcements section to keep informed of important information & changes.

Shouldn't Announcements be something readily seen & found? and not tucked under the Community on the site map at the bottom of the eBay home page - way on the far right?

I know it's easy to find on the Seller Hub page, but I prefer All Selling for a quick overview for Active, Sold & Unsold all on one page.  Also, some of the annoucements are relevant to buyers.

I know it's been brought up before, but has there been any feedback?

Thanks.

Will it always show a case closed in buyers favor Trinton? I have never had one of those before. It still shows that and it was not. Also. I have a return I need to process. Buyer could not wear jacket and returned because it was too small. If I go and refund on PayPal will I get another defect and will I get final value fee refunded? There is not customer service involved and I am afraid to call them. she just messaged and returned item.

Why is this still allowed in the book category after two years and multiple reports? I gave up reporting them last year 😞

Happy to address these concerns in order:

1st - We can take events such as this into account when reviewing your Top Rated status and I'm happy to let you know that while in the past this was only an automated process, we can review issues manually at this time. The timeframe you indicate may be too old for review, but I'll reach out via email to double check with you.

2nd - I would need to see the specific example you are referencing and will grab this from you via email as well. Looking forward to working with you!
