There is no need to continue checking into those issues with the shipping system for me.  It is quite clear eBay has no intent to fix what they broke regarding FedEx.  It is also clear that UPS will never have insurance for more than the first $100.  I am not surprised since eBay is having big enough problems as it with their Managed Payments systems.  I would have thought eBay had more regard for their buyer’s protection at the minimum.

Luckily I am basically done selling here and will be moving on to better sites as I learn them.

Last week regarding - .  ”Patrick Mahomes Cracked Ice Auto” # 20 of 25” counterfeited cards being sold on eBay where it was communicated that 355 of this same # 20 of 25 card has sold on eBay since April. brian@ebay answered :

“Our policy doesn't allow sellers to sell counterfeit items on our site. Using the Report Item link on a listing is the best way to alert the appropriate teams when you believe an item may be counterfeit. That team reviews every report and does take action based on their findings."

So on Saturday October 3 rd, I reported all 27 active listings of the above counterfeit card.  Reported as counterfeit with the comment “reported based on weekly chat with eBay Staff” or something like that.

So what are the results 96 hours later

  • 11 are still active
  •  8 were sold
  • 7 closed without being sold
  • 1 was not found.

And today there are currently 26 active listings of this counterfeit.  I do not see that reporting works.

Why is this not so obvious?   They are all numbered # 20 of 25 and all are listed as reprints or “RP” where Panini America has not reprinted cards from 2017.

Facebook has been criticized for being complacent and financially benefiting from a number of wrong things, seems like eBay is complacent and financially benefitting from the illegal sale of counterfeit cards. eBay really needs to look hard at autographed reprints of Patrick Mahomes, Mike Trout, Kobe Bryant/Michael Jordan Dual Auto, Lebron James/Michael Jordan Dual Auto, etc.

@gwzcomps While I don't have an update on the FedEx issues you mentioned previosouly, I can confirm that UPS via eBay labels will have the option to add insurance for items over $100. That's in the works right now 🙂

I am a vintage seller specializing in fragrances.  Many of mine are used, not brand-new.  I've always been able to list the used ones in the Fragrances subcategory of Health and Beauty, but as of this week, that option is gone.  Now my only choices for the item condition are "new with box" and "new without box."  Does this mean eBay is no longer allowing used fragrances, or is this just a glitch in the system that you are planning to fix?

The same thing happened in August of 2019.  One day, the "used" condition in the Fragrances category disappeared without warning.  The workaround I came up with last year was to move all my used fragrances to the Vanity, Perfume, and Shaving category.  But then one day the "used" condition suddenly reappeared in the Fragrances category, but with a new name: "preowned."  So I moved all my used items back to the Fragrances category.

I don't want to make unnecessary work for myself, so at this time I'm not creating or editing any listings for used fragrances, nor am I moving them between categories.  I'm hoping someone from eBay can fill us in on what's happening so I'll know what to do. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi @justsc92 - thank you for taking the time to report these items. Brian gave you accurate information on what is and is not allowed on the site, as well as what to do with items you find that you suspect to be inauthentic.

We will have your reports reviewed. Thanks!

I am having an ongoing issue with faulty tracking updates showing in the orders I have shipped.

1.  I use ebay shipping

2. The tracking is updated to ebay automatically.

3. My packages are packed and taken to the post office usually the same day as I print the labels but I occasionally print and pack labels the night before, but always ship on the date of the label.

This is what is shown when I look at tracking on the ebay site.  The second photo shows the tracking when I look at the USPS site.  Notice that on the ebay side  I see an extra update that says that the pre-shipment is sent to USPS and is awaiting item.  This is after the post office has the item and it is on it's way

THe way the ebay site shows, the package is picked up, sent to sorting center 120 miles away and then  leaves the sorting center in Kent WA and is on it's way, only for it to show "pre-shipment" the day after it is shipped and accepted.  I have numerous examples of this, on numerous days.  Where is ebay getting that additional (wrong) tracking update?tracking1.pngtracking2.png

Makes no difference to me anymore, but thanks.  Maybe eBay should quit rolling out unfinished products or sell out to a tech company who knows how to manage their own systems.

Hi! I'm hoping that you have an update on last week's follow-on discussion about the previously-reported problem in which the Shipping form is loading with the package dimensions in reverse order:

https://community.ebay.com/t5/Weekly-Chat-with-eBay-Staff/Community-Chat-September-30-1-00-pm-PT-Gen...

The longest dimension (originally entered in the listing field of pkgLength) is getting loaded into the Shipping field of dimensions.height, and the shortest dimension (originally entered in the listing field of pkgHeight) is getting loaded into the Shipping field of dimensions.length. Any internal calculations relying on Length being the longest value will be wrong.

Next, there's also a new problem that has appeared recently in someone's attempted revision of the Blocked Bidder List page:

https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock?

The blocked IDs are now being sorted chronologically by the member's internal ID number (assigned when they opened their account) and not in the vastly more useful alphabetical order, so it's difficult to tell whether a particular member is already on the list, in cases where you might want to remove them.

A second error in this page revision is omitting a space character following each comma separator, and the display code for this page will not break the line on a comma; it needs a trailing space. Thus the lines become unreadable run-ons, breaking only on secondary characters such as hyphens in the middle of someone's ID.

The BBL problems have been discussed so much recently that I assume there's been a report on this already, but can you please verify the status of a pending fix?

I'd also like to know if you could give us a general description of the peer review and QA testing involved in these revisions, because it's really not looking very good. Thanks!

2nd concern/question.

About a month or more ago, I got a tool in my seller hub to help me with updating item specifics.  Very helpful.  I had to update nearly all of my over 200 listings.  I took the time to fill out the "new" IS even though I had filled them out when I listed the items and some of the IS were duplicates of what was already in the listing IS.

Fast forward to last week while I was away, I got a notice in seller hub (again) that about 180 of my items needed new Item specifics added and soon would be required.  Again, I dutifully filled them out and added them even though they were already there or were duplicates of what I had put in when listing and when fixing them several weeks prior.

And today. AGAIN, I get notice that the same listing need updated item specifics.  Today I am updating them again only I am finding things like "size"  which was filled out when I listed the item, when I updated the listings and what is already in the Item specifics, only this time, they moved the size box to another spot and need me to fill it out again.

also note that I checked "do not show me this again" when updating them.

Really? Is it necessary to do this in October?  October - December is traditionally a very busy selling season and even your own marketing dept suggests that holiday shopping will be earlier this year.

And instead of creating new listings, I am filling out for the 3rd or 4th time, Item specifics which ebay tells me would be required soon and if I don't do it.. well.. who knows.. Probably no  sales.

Why the duplication of efforts and is this the last time we have to update them?  I should not have to repeat this update so many times.

Any update on that communications plan about the tech problems that have been rampant all across the site this week?

When can we expect to receive the "openness, honesty, respect and doing business with integrity" that CEO Jamie Iannone has promised?

Things happen, we all understand that - but a great deal rides on how those things are handled.  This has been a very disappointing week in that regard.

Hi @golfingaddict - not certain what's happening there, it looks like the scan normally associated with when you purchase postage on eBay is showing up in the tracking info much later.

I will get this reported as a potential technical issue. Thanks!

A few days ago, eBay changed the appearance of the Blocked Buyer List. It now sorts in numerical account number order instead of sorting in alphabetical account order. Sellers with a huge list can no longer manage their blocked buyers because they have to sift through an unsorted, non-tabular list that is strung all together. Can the programmers put it back into alphabetic order?

I guess I do not understand not allowed.    I guess it is allowed until the original manufacturer speaks up?  The user community is helpless, and is being scammer left and right.

As sellers say "there must be nothing wrong with it, everyone is doing it".

eBay needs a way to separate out and make a seller commit if the item is an authorized reprint where it is marked as such or they can provide license or permision for sale.     If you would make a seller commit it is licensed and required to have prove, that would cut down on the problem.

That should not be put on the seller.   As this forum told me weeks ago - it is for me to find more about the item if I do not know its authenticity .

Seller lie by saying "brand new", "right out of the pack", PSA 10?, etc.  All in order to confuse the buyer into thinking it is more than a counterfeit reprint.  Some way this needs to be weeded out.

@sillage it's strange that there was a preowned condition for a time because used perfumes (fragrances) aren't allowed according to our cosmetics policy. I'll look into this further to see what information I can get about the preowned condition going away.
