For creating new variations listings or using "sell a similar item" for my current listings that have variations, the volume discount settings are hidden and locked.
In the "See Pricing Options" section of the listing page, the Volume Discounts button is toggled on (blue). However, the tool where you set your discounts for 2, 3 or 4 items won't show up. It remains hidden.
I am able to take a live item that incorporates variations and volume discounts and then use the Sell A Similar Item tool. Under the Sell a Similar item listing page, I will not see the the volume discounts button (again, locked and hidden). But if I list the item, it will carry over the discounts from the first listing. But I'm stuck with those discounts. I can't kill them or change them. The Volume Discounts button is toggled on during the listing process, but the actual tool remains locked and hidden.
This has been confirmed in the ebay Ask A Mentor section. It needs to be addressed by Ebay programmers. Thank you

I have had a similar issue with variations and volume pricing. I have been told that volume pricing can not be added to variations listings after creating a variations listing and adding volume pricing in the draft. After submitting it the volume pricing banner was on the listing but no volume pricing. Another listing that had variations and volume pricing had a sale with volume pricing applied. At some point that changed b/c volume pricing option was available and added to the cart but at check out it reverted to full price. The 3rd listing was a draft that did not have volume pricing available to add. I create all 3 from scratch b/c I normally create single listings and didn't know variations could be created that way from sell similar. The rep had to escalate the issue b/c I should not have been able to use volume pricing and variations at the same time, let alone make a volume pricing sale from one. They had no idea why that happened and why did the pricing revert at check out? I don't know if they will even get back to me about this issue as I complained about wasting my time and needing to end the listings and start over to relist them. That was the best solution that was offered. I feel I should get credit for those I had to end early. I doubt anything will come out of this b/c the draft without VP was correct. So wasted time on creating the listings, loss of credibility when buyers added to cart and expected lower price but got full price at check out, and again wasted time trying to resolve the issue with a rep for more than an hour. Lost 2 listings and who knows how many sales. Very disappointed with the situation.
