Search engine mess!

I'm not new to buying on Ebay but there was no category for this issue. When I am searching for an item I've done a search for...and click "return to search" after looking at one of the items...it does not take me back to where I was in the search. It shuffles all the items and I can't start looking from where I left off. It never did that before...what's going on. It is annoying and makes me lose interest in continuing to search.

Which browser or app are you using? Mobile or desktop?

Does that behavior persist after restarting your device or browser?

It sounds like you are going from search results to an item listing, and then using the back button to go back to the search results. Are the results actually sorted differently, or are you just going back to the top of the search results again rather than where you left off?

If the latter, try a different browser; in most browsers I have used, using the back button should leave you exactly where you left off once the page has loaded completely.

Another possibility if you are using a browser: instead of opening the item listing in the same tab, open in a new tab; then when you are done with that listing simply close the tab and you will be left at the exact spot in the search results, assuming you are using default tab settings. This has the benefit of not reloading the search results, and can be much faster, particularly if you are at the end of a long list of results.
