For about a week I have not been able to see any sellers' loaded images/descriptions below the "Detailed Item Info" section. I get a long grey area to the right of "Categories" with these words:
"Requests to the server have been blocked by an extension" and the frown face page icon.screen capture
Below that is the "Questions and answers about this item" section.
I have not changed any ad-blockers, flash blockers and still have eBay on all White lists to allow ads and flash player. Other images on a seller's listing page display fine.

@shipscript Has eBay decided to include self-hosted images in the active content ban? ie. images included in the description area of the listing.

No, the "iframe sandbox" attribute does not block images, and eBay has not extended their ban beyond the "sandbox".
The problem explained above is that the entire iframe is not loading, and I assume the message (Requests to the server have been blocked by an extension) is appearing within the iframe where the description should have appeared.
The "extension" that is preventing this page from appearing is probably a browser extension or add-on or security program. The "cross-domain" URL of eBay's description iframe begins with http://vi.vipr.ebaydesc.com/ , so, adblockers and security settings should be altered to allow ebaydesc.com to load.
It is possible that someone reported malware in an eBay listing by purposely or accidentally using "report this site" in their browser add-on, and such reports were sent back to the security site (or to an internal list) which added that domain to its latest external or internal list of blocked sites.

FWIW, I have been having this error too on all eBay pages. After having disabled all my Google Chrome Extensions (after which time the issue went away), I switched them back on, one by one, reloading the eBay page that was being affected. The 'offending' Extension was called 'Privacy Badger' which "blocks spying ads and invisible trackers."
As it turns out, it's more important to have my privacy defended than to worry too much about having grey boxes on eBay pages I visit, but at least I now know which Extension was affecting my browser so I can switch it on and off as I see fit, if appropriate for me.
