Messages not loading properly

Messaging is acting strange. I don't receive images and only the current message shows correctly. All the previous messages quoted show up as formatting strings. This is also true of emails I get from eBay members.

Do I have a setting wrong somewhere?

Is there any difference if you try another browser?

I only have one browser, so I can't check that. It does the same thing on the eBay app on my iPad and the mail app on my Mac.
