Making an Offer - Software flaw freezes item

When someone asks if you will take less for an item, and you respond with a price, and they do not respond, you are stuck. You cannot change the price of the item and are limited on revisions.

This needs to be changed , and a time limit be given on these offers, like is done on second chance auctions. I will not use that feature anymore, I will change my listing to accept offers, and have the buyer make the offer, until this is corrected.

Ebay software staff, please correct this flaw.

Thank you

ebay will not be changing it. That is pretty mcuh how its always been when buyer or sellers makes an offer. Seller cant go in and revise the listing. Dont send offers. Just revise and lower the price for all too see and purchase.

I can't understand what you're trying to describe.

When someone asks if you will take less for an item, and you respond with a price, and they do not respond, you are stuck.

Are you talking about a potential buyer sending you an eBay message offering a lower price? Or using the "Make Offer" option? And then you counteroffer, and the potential buyer doesn't respond? How are you stuck, exactly? What is it you want to do?

You cannot change the price of the item and are limited on revisions.

Are you trying to change the price of the item on the item listing? Or trying to make another counteroffer?

This needs to be changed , and a time limit be given on these offers, like is done on second chance auctions.

Again, what do you mean when you say "a time limit be given on these offers." What offers? The "Make Offer" feature? Offers you're making to watchers?

I will not use that feature anymore, I will change my listing to accept offers, and have the buyer make the offer, until this is corrected.

In your first sentence, you said, "When someone asks if you will take less for an item . . . " Doesn't that mean a potential buyer did make you an offer? But now you want to change it so a potential buyer can make an offer? I thought someone did make you an offer, and that's part of your concern.

Just exactly what is the timeline and detail of what happened?

The buyer has 48 hours to respond to your counter offer.  During that time you are limited on what you can change on the listing.  Once the 48 hours has expired you can then make changes.

It's been like this for several years.
