Ebay Checkout not connecting to paypal

I have had issues the last 3 days where ebay will not let me pay for an item through Paypal. I get to the payment screen, choose Paypal and then sign into paypal and I get a timer (circle) on the screen going round and round but it never connects.

There is not an issue with my paypal account it just seems that ebay wont talk to the site for payment.

I notice this has been an issue for other users. Was there ever a fix for the problem??

If you are running into problems when checking out -- specifically, getting a spinning progress ring immediately after signing in to PayPal -- see this thread for some possible things to try:

Many users experiencing that problem have better results when switching to another browser, or temporarily disabling ad blocking and cross-site tracker blocking on eBay and PayPal, or else using a mobile browser or the eBay app to checkout.

Thanks for your reply, I have been trawling various threads and advice and have now solved the problem.

I am using Safari on an ipad and I have had to turn off Ad content blocker. This has solved the problem and allowed me to checkout a payment to Paypal as before. I will however turn it back on now I have managed to pay, and trawl through the settings to see if I can add ebay and Paypal to any “safe lists”.

You should be able to add pay.ebay.com and paypal.com to your ad blocker's whitelist or exception list -- that way you can still block ads on the rest of ebay.com other than the checkout section.
