Customer Service bails out on chat.

I was trying to report a multiple item listing violation. After I entered the second of two item numbers, the reporting page refused the entered item  number as invalid. The listing number was confirmed and reentered, but the reporting page again refused, repeating the need to correct the invalid item number.

I contacted Customer assistance and connected first with “Hannah”, after explaining the problem, passed me to “Rhea”. After explaining the difficulty again, Rhea asked what help I needed, and then cut off the chat before I could answer. Less than 15 seconds while typing my reply, and Rhea typed I haven't heard from you for a long time, so I have to end the chat, or similar wording, then cut off the chat. Next, I clicked on “I need more help” button, and was connected to “Michael”, and then again explained my difficulty reporting the listing violation.

As before, “Michael” asked me what help I required, then again after 10 seconds cut off the chat.

How am I supposed to report listing violation difficulty when the chat agents at customer service won't or cannot help, without explanation, just bail out without  helping at all? Is chatting with Customer Support useless for these kinds of problems?

Is there a better or more correct way to get help with technical difficulties like this?

Then the same thing happened with “Michael”, only this time the chat was cut off after only 10 seconds.

Why are you contacting eBay to report? That is what the online form is for.

Besides the fact that it would take a He-double-hockstick of a lot more people reporting things, to do anything, then just you reporting, so ya, it is a feel good thing and that is about all.

Those items are listed by different seller accounts.

The duplicate listing policy applies to the listings of one seller account. That is why you get an error message when you try to report the second item number -- it is not listed by the same seller account.

It is not against eBay policy for multiple seller accounts to list the same item.

Could be the system only allowes you to report the one item you are viewing or has a limit.
