Blue header bars for Watchlist and other lists are missing?

It appears that, among the other glitches plaguing the site lately, the header banner that lets you know if an item is on one of your lists or not has disappeared. I've added items to my Watchlist and Custom Lists today; earlier, it was working as usual, but now the blue "Added to your ____ List" doesn't come appear. When I click on the dropdown menu, the pertinent list is checked, but no bar.

I'm not sure that I actually trust that the items were added, but I don't want to go digging to make sure every time I click the "add". I'm sure that this is somehow tied to some kind of "user experience enhancement" that's about as effectual as Enzyte. (Yes, I know that I'm dating myself.)

I really wish that the code raccoons would quit breaking things—excuse me, changing things for the sake of changing them. I've been on the site for a shade less than forever, and I can't remember the last time one of these "improvements" actually made things work better.

Tech specs: Chrome on Macbook Pro running Big Sur.

Try refreshing the page. If the blue heart icon in the item image is still blue after a refresh, it appears the item was actually added to the Watch List successfully. For other lists you will have to check the drop-down to see if the check mark appears.

Same problem on Chrome, where the blue header has been usurped by an annoying sponsored store banner.

The blue heart is not an effective substitute. Its only useful function is eliminating the need to open every listing page in order to save items to your watchlist  when scrolling search returns. Thereafter, it merely indicates that the item is being watched. What it signally fails to do is link to any custom list that the item might also be saved in--a facility of the late, lamented blue header that I found invaluable for comparison purposes.

I also think this is absurd. Those list links are crucial for efficiency.

In addition, you don't have the remove from list button anymore. So if you

add to a custom list, there's no way to remove unless you go to that list,

find the item, and delete.

If you add to the watchlist, or click the heart by the picture it turns blue, and if you

click the heart again it removes the item from the watchlist.  The problem with

that is, if you have the item on any other lists, it also removes them from

those lists. The heart doesn't work for anything other than the watchlist.

Add Ebay to the list of major companies that make things less convenient to people instead making things easier.

I just had the horrible thought that every change they make involves more clicks for the buyer and seller, and it's done solely to  boost their numbers of page views so they can get higher on the list of most website traffic.
