Hi looking for some help from one of you who specialize in old stoneware just picked this up and have never seen anything like it. This is covered with decoration on almost every single inch makes me think it was some type of exhibition piece possibly for a fair . The large star on the back with a 8 makes me think it was made by North star potter that was in Red wing MN for a very short time . missing the bail handle and lid I can only imagine what that looked like and unfortunately has a large crack . still in my opinion a amazing piece of stoneware that had to be made by a master potter . found by Hudson WI at a garage sale lady thought I may have belonged to her mother

I can't tell for sure but it look like maybe it had a lid at one time?
Are there two holes, opposite each other?

Please always show the bottom, marked or not. How the piece is finished on the bottom may make or brake and ID
