This 1908 ironing postcard illustrates a woman ironing, using a stand/sad iron heater with visible flame. This was fueled by a gas hose which probably connected to one of the room's gas light fixtures.
I loved the theme of this postcard, despite its being in such terrible shape, and wanted to be able to include it in my next trivet book. The card itself is very brittle, cracked and ripped. My husband Ed used Adobe Photoshop to recreate the image to its former glory!
