Hi, I am taking picture of small woodturnings and also books nothing fancy or artistic but I want good pics. My white board comes out gray and there are some not nice shadows. I need at least one more light, the existing light is a 4 ft LED shop light right in back of me. should I get s ring light or a hooded clamp light with a 100 watt daylite bulb. I don't know enough to know what set up would be better thanks Mike

You could get a ring or other type of lighting. Some photography shops (or on Ebay/Amazon) sell small lighting setups that include lights, stands, reflectors and other stuff. In my opinion you probably have something already available if you do not want to spend money. You want to make sure there is a proper amount of light as well as some side or back lighting to remove any shadows. There are many videos on Utube that can give you ideas on how to position your lights. Tech is amazing these days and you really don't need much but a good cell phone camera, decent lighting and a decent background remover. I tried Ebay's background remover but would get artifacts or non defined lines which took me more time to deal with. Don't over think it and just try a few different lights (around the house or natural light) until you get a consistent outcome.
-Good Luck
