A brand new user offering a too good to be true price - should I accept it?

I was selling an old 8mm video camera at $50 https://www.ebay.com/itm/154566984390

(Now relisted at $48.) Then I got a $100 offer from a user whose account was created yesterday. My guts feeling is this is highly suspicious. Should I just ignore this offer? How could this user make money out of this? Am I too cautious?

Of course its a scam. New sellers attract them like bees to honey. At least you had enough common sense to realize someone offering twice your asking price is probably not legit.

On an auction such might be legit.

More likly trying to get you to contact them off of ebay so they can scam you with fake payment notice or the:

"I am buying for a friend can you include gift cards."

note: a quick check on sold items shows the offer to be a high price...

I agree with your gut...

New seller, new buyer offering double the price? Definitely suspicious.

it's better to ignore. because of 2 reasons as that price is double the price that you have listed and also because the account was created a day ago.
