My eBay Gift Card That Had $150 On It Was Frozen After I Bought Something Under $20 And I Contacted My Local Store Where I Bought It From To See If They Could Help Me, But They Said When A Gift Card Leaves The Store Then It Is Out Of Their Reach, I Just Got Done Sending eBay The Stuff That They Need To Resolve The Issue, Has Anyone Else Seen This Problem Before?

Yes, and I am currently experiencing the same problem. According to the non-responses I keep getting from their customer service, "there are times [eBay] proactively freezes a gift card if there are concerns that the code may have been obtained by a fraudulent third party". Honestly it's a load of rubbish to me, as their terms and conditions about their gift cards don't state they proactively freeze gift cards. It appears that eBay does not want to be held accountable for their actions, and puts customers through the ringer to obtain their gift card funds. If nothing has happened since you sent them the information about your gift card, file a claim against eBay with the BBB and your state's Department of Justice. Hope this answer helps.

It really is abuse I have endured this almost everytime I made a purchase with a card over 100 dollars. Even now my account is months old and has over 20 puchases and 100% positivity rate they still freezing my cards, which sucks because I bought this card to buy a item on sale, and by the time it gets unfrozen the item will probably be gone.

I hope I find an alternative to this abusive site that punishes you for not using a credit card, when it was their choice to begin with to sell ebay gift cards. Customer service basically tells you to f off when you ask why your card was frozen, they wont even tell you.

There are more problems with gift cards than anything else you can buy.  People stop buying them. They serve no purpose.

i had this problem too. it's ashamed  when people actually are legitly buying something for theirself and ebay ends up locking the card due to "scams" ive never had this issue with amazon or anyone else with gift cards.

Reasons for a freeze on a card is related to the amount of fraud such cards are requested for use in.

Gift card scams is some were in the 15 millions of dollars each year. maybe a great deal more.....

Why anyone would use such these days with the risks associated with em I have no idea.

Maybe it is time for eBay to stop producing them for sale.
