VINTAGE BEAR PATTERN HAND MADE? RUG, YOUR THOIUGHTS PLEASE

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT RUGS OTHER THAN YOU WALK ON THEM...FOUND THIS AT AN ESTATE SALE, WAS TOLD IT WAS OLD, NOT SO SURE THAT IS TRUE.  WAS ALSO TOLD IT WAS HAND MADE AND NOT MACHINE MADE,,,AGAIN, NOT SURE THAT IS TRUE.  THE BEAR PATTERN IS WOVEN IN, I DON'T KNOW I'M LOST YOUR THOUGHTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.  IT IS ONLY LIKE 2 FEET BY 4 FEET

I'm sorry, but the pictures show that the design was printed or painted on, not woven as would be expected for a handmade rug. This is clear from the picture of the top surface, but also, if the design was woven it would be visible on the bottom surface as well.
