Safer to drive a car. No way I am ever getting on a motorcycle again.

You can not buy a new motorcycle helmet that meets USA safety standards for $49. If you're looking at China listings, you are taking you life in your hands. Buy American, because it matters. Good Luck to you.

Or you can buy one that will really protect you starting at about $350. Not that it will keep you from being a cripple or organ donor anyway...but at least even the odds a bit. (Remember guys, a mere fender-bender that you'd walk away from without a scratch in a car, can easily kill you or change your life forever on a motorcicle- even when wearing full gear. Human bodies don't do impacts well.) In today's world of distracted/drunk/drugged/idiot/crazy drivers, it's INSANE.

If it's not Snell rated then it might be very iffy. It's better than nothing but far from superior safety.
I'm a cyclist so I tend to disagree that motorcycles are death personified. More dangerous than a car true enough but no reason to shun them.
I've ridden for 45 years and still kicking. A buddy of mine has gone down 5 times at more than 60 MPH (several of them at more than 80) with no helmet and he's still motoring along.
