Parts are getting harder to find.  Four years ago I could find all the three wheeler parts I wanted. Now, the selection is very poor the prices high and the condition is bad on many of them.

That stuff gets harder to find as time goes on.

I just did a search and there are a few Camaro parts, but mixed in with a heap of other parts nowhere near to relevant to your search - quite the mess.

@mperk391,

Time has a lot to do with parts availability, but so do sales and production figures which determine the Govt. mandated 7 year parts supply.

Many of the `68 Camaro's parts were shared by the whole 1 generation model run `67 -`69, as well as 1st gen Pontiac Trans Ams.  They even shared some parts with the `67-`69 Chevy Nova. Many frame and engine components carried over into the 2nd gen cars.

If you are looking for body parts, original OEM parts are hard to come by. You may have to go to Cars inc., Yearone, or search hemmings for restoration parts jobbers. There is one out of Kentucky that is pretty good.

NOS parts on a 68 model?  Those dried up long ago.

You think after 55 years you can still find NOS parts?

Unreal.

@tony1963,

Believe it or not there are places that buy the remaining stock of auto manufacturer's and dealership parts, after the mandated 7 year on hand parts supply has ended, and warehouse them.  They are called "Jobbers" though the term has changed with the times.

Some specialize in one brand or manufacturer others have parts from many brands/manufacturers.  Some buy the dies and molds and even the stamping and press machines, usually for the body parts but some for the trim pieces as well.  Some guys specialize in carpeting and seat covers.   There are also some businesses who have gone through the trouble of reproducing restoration parts using the original or built to Mfr. specs stamping presses and tooling.

  The last resort for some is to search through some of the South West wrecking yards inventory. (much easier to do now with computerization) That climate is great for outdoor non-preserved storage. Look up Davis Monthan Air Force base - boneyard.  You don't think that the AF is having Boeing make air frame and other parts for B-52s that went out of production in 1962, 60 years ago, do you?

The conversation is NOS, not reproduction parts.

I feel like I need to do a seminar on these posts.  How the topic can move from NOS to reproduction is one that we need to start charging a fee for posting.

The supply of NOS parts from 55 years ago is ultra tiny.  No, not junkyard or aftermarket, NOS.

I guess you did not read the first sentence of my last post. Jobbers, the ones that remain, do have stocks of vintage OEM car parts. Most do not use ebay, but advertise in the magazines and sites dedicated to vintage car restoration/repair.   Because the OP is having problems with finding whatever it is they are looking for.  I offered some suggestions on where he may be able to find high quality parts.  Being helpful is a part of what these boards are all about.  Unfortunately, the OP has seemingly not come back to read this topic.

I read it.  But I saw the conversation then turn to aftermarket parts.

I suppose we should also add chicken soup to the discussion along with windshield washer fluid sensors.

What the op is complaining about is all the other junk coming up in that category search that never use to show up before.  for example like the redneck fender logo, not sure how that is considered 1968 camaro  nos parts?

I'm looking for a new, never titled 1949 Buick.  I've called the local Buick dealer and no luck.
