Auction or fixed price?

This is my first time selling a vehicle on EBay so please advise me about listing it.  I have a 1964 Chevy Chevelle I want to sell.  My asking price will be around $40,000.  I think want to use the reserve option.  Can someone advise me if I should use the fixed price option or the auction?

Thanks

Sharon

Auction or fixed price?

Do not rely on eBay, this is just one channel of your mutli channel marketing plan. Cars, here, tend to end at wholesale prices. You can try:

- classified ad

- auction, starting at 99¢, no reserve. I'm kidding.

- auction, starting at 99¢, with a reserve.

- auction, start at 99¢, reserve, BIN price.

Unless you get a for real interested party, you will get a lot of stiffs. Car sales on eBay are not binding.

There a couple of vehicles selelrs here. Atikovi does a listing that will astound you. 100 pictures, none of this 12 picture nonsense. Professional listings generate higher prices.

Do the auction. Put a reserve at the lowest price you're comfortable selling it at. Add a Buy It Now $2,000 above that with an immediate $500 deposit requirement. Start the listing at $100 and run it for 10 days.

Totally agree with Ati.  Start your 10 days on Thursday night and it will end on Sunday night giving you 2 weekends. Good luck!
