Those shots are great Gene. Even though I have built a bunch of structures, so far none of them are finished. They all need dirt, dust, debris and people to be complete. All the little details are put in place once the building gets to its home on the layout. You will see it all here if I ever get finished. Just to show you that I do do detail work, I have posted some pictures of an HO scale engine house I did in the 70's. This thing won several awards at shows, but even it has room for improvement by today's standards. The interior is the real show part of the structure with all the tools etc. There is even a toilet and TP roll on the tank. I don't think it shows in the pictures though. Any oil spills you may see are really oil. I tok the people off it long before I did these shots, and it is gone now. Sold. B-) & :x

What kin of glue did you use on the tiles Dot? CA or yellow carpenter glue? ]:) And how many grey hairs did you get doing them? B-) & :x

Thanks to all. I just thought I would share them since you all had to put up with hearing about that kitchen for so long. (poor Ed's work friends, he brought the before, during & after pics to work today) (at least I only shared 2 with you guys!!!) I did the tile work on the walls. The beige ones came in sheets so it wasn't that hard. The little multicolored ones were pretty easy since it's only one row. I cut the tile for the floor too. Everyone told us how difficult that job was going to be but to be honest, tile cutting with the electric tile saw we bought made the job super simple. It was just a bit messy. thanks dot

There was an interesting article in last weeks newspaper regarding an old train station (still standing!) in the town right next to ours. This morning, I was on a local blog site involving Sussex County, NJ and saw that a new Model rr museum just opened. Well, these two places are minutes from my house and right down the road from one another so Ed and I took a quick ride. I took many pictures of the old (1882) Sparta, NJ Train Station and Water Tower and then we went over to the Friar Mountain Model Railroad Museum. What a nice morning we had. Just thought I would share this with you guys. Now its off to get a bit a of work done, then its cocktail time! (the station I am working on right now is soooo similar to this one. Hi Dot, Looks like typical C&O or D&L structures. Very similar to the Maywood, NJ station that is also restored. Thanks for the link. BTW, I'm having my first 'toonie right now. CHEERS!

Went to Maine for the weekend and while there found out there was a model RR show at the local school so we took it in. Small show in the gym with O, HO and N-scale equaly represented. The only running layouts were N, See pics. The only thing I bought was a bunch of old Model Railroad Craftsman magazines. If you look just past (about 1000 miles) the light house, you'll see Pete's house. There was even a surfing contest going on, BRRRRRRRR !!!! Beautiful day on Saturday but rained (still is) the rest of the time. Still stuffed from all the seafood we ate. Punk

Doug, I can't tell you the times I've taken pics of the Nubble!!! You were in the area of York. We usually go a few miles North to Ogunquit. We almost bought a house there but the deal breaker was that the original owner wanted the summer rentals after we would have owned the house. Of course that wasn't going to happen. Glad we didn't though, If we lived there we would greatly miss our Grandkids. (The oldest just had some in and out surgery today). We can always go and rent and not have the hassles of ownership.Haven't been to Maine in a couple of years. I friend and I are going to a conference in Rye NY tomorrow until Sat. He just got back today from visiting his Daughter who lives in Maine near Rockport and is a Veterinarian. He is driving downstate tomorrow too! Thanks for posting the pictures. Gene
