Here is a link to Bar Mills Models on-line newspaper and information station. Art has 4 new on-line videos that you might find interesting. The first two are about Bar Mills Models itself. The next two are instructive videos. One on different types of glues and their use and the other on the new Bar Mills weathering powders. There are also pictures of some of the kits available. Enjoy. http://barmillsmodels.com/dailymoose_05A_05.html

congrats Dave, from now on your life is no longer your own, just wait till the 3 am callouts start. ]:) Can't be any worse than working as security guard on midnights for crap pay. At least the callouts with RR is at time and a half pay. -- Edited by dl85vette at 04/02/2010 4:05 AM PDT

Just couldn't stand being "retired" could you. Now you should really get some good railfan shots. Take your camera to work. No more worries about being chased off railroad property by the RR cops. Sounds like a fun job and from what I hear, RR retirement pay is pretty good. Any chance for cab rides? B-)

Well Pete, I wasn't really retired. I was working as security guard 30-40 hours a week.

Sure...now that you are a "real" railroader, will you have time for us amateurs any more? ]:)

Oh I will have time for ya.. Just don't show me photos of your layout or I will criticise your signalling system or lack of hotbox detectors.. hahahahaha supposed to be 4 days on 4 days off and the days I work will be on the road so should be interesting. And if I get laid off for the winter months then I will have lots of time for modelling.

I'll bet you work harder in the winter keeping those signal boxes and detectors clear of the snow and ice. :^O

Not sure who looks after snow removal. My position is seasonal and get called back in the spring. Hoping to sock up some decent overtime to put towards winter. Hopefully I can get in a decent career with them for the pension. It'd be nice to have a second pension someday.

Dave once your in you can probably apply for better positions, maybe even engineman, who knows. ]:) I'll be content to stay in the signals & comms branch. Upgrade to lineman or something and make more cash again. Still estatic with current situation/pay. -- Edited by dl85vette at 04/06/2010 5:56 PM PDT
