Here is a link to Bar Mills Models on-line newspaper and information station. Art has 4 new on-line videos that you might find interesting. The first two are about Bar Mills Models itself. The next two are instructive videos. One on different types of glues and their use and the other on the new Bar Mills weathering powders. There are also pictures of some of the kits available. Enjoy. http://barmillsmodels.com/dailymoose_05A_05.html

Dave, Aircraft mechanics are needed in the US. You qualified? Not sure what your speciality is. The southwest is hot and dry, but they do get snow in the mountains. Barry, The liquid can be brown also if a dark ale is chosen. I had a mixture of dark and light bottles and then switched to my favorite toonies later. The ribs were great!!!! Actually got as little sun-burned on my chest too. Canadians as a rule aren't as patriotic as Americans. Not much in the way of fireworks here last night. B-) -- Edited by ginzokid at 07/02/2009 3:28 AM PDT For airplanes, they usually want licensed techs. In Canada, ya gotta go thru Transport Canada and write numerous exams for license and there is a couple subjects the military training doesn't cover (or something like that) plus you require 6 months on civilian aircraft. Lastly, after 20 years I don't want to work on planes anymore. -- Edited by dl85vette at 07/02/2009 7:12 PM PDT

Today is a day off for those in the US. Just what they need....three whole days of barbequing and drinking. I'm jealous. Yes I will also celebrate the 4th with more ribs, or maybe some berggers and dogs instead and mucho vino. Hey! I pay taxes in two countries! I'm entitled. B-)

Well today we had a couple birthdays, tomorrow we go to my oldest son's for some outdoor cooking, and some fireworks. Here in the people's county of Montgomery, Maryland ve doon't let you doo fireverks for the 4th. But in Frederick or out in Midlothian we can get our own fireworks to celebrate! Charles When we lived in Arizona we didn't bother with fireworks. Everyone just went outside with their guns and used tracer rounds. Pretty......;-) Bunch of showoffs, the flame out of the barrel of a high powered rifle looks pretty impressive on a dark night, I'm glad I live in the bush, you can pretty much play anytime you like. ]:) -- Edited by ginzokid at 07/04/2009 4:42 AM PDT -- Edited by barrysfp45 at 07/04/2009 5:44 AM PDT

Did a getaway weekend (friday-saturday) trip to Gand Forks, N.D. Town pretty quiet. Had a great steak dinner at the Bronze Boot. Got to see some BNSF locos. Caught one in mInnesota today that was stopped but just started to roll as I got out of tuck so raced ahead to a nearby crossing and got lots of pics of it as it rolled by as it started to acellerate. Enginer gave a real long blast for me. BNSF pumpkin leading a BNSF red/silver warbonnet.

I swore in this am so I am now a commissionaire. I'll see how the work situation pans out. There's a few things I wasn't informed on until near the end of the course or today. I got my ticket for 649 as usual. So what is a commissionaire? B-) -- Edited by ginzokid at 07/30/2009 3:50 AM PDT

They're usually the old guys you see as security guards at Cdn federal buildings and maybe the airport. military/RCMP retirees get hiring preference. Not sure if it will be the ultimate dream job ( I know the pay isn't anything like aircraft repair) but it will be a job that stays at work. Not writing personnel evluation reports, not being on pager callout like before, not getting umpteen projects dumped on me. SO yea, should be much less stress than the crap I had last march/april. Still didn't hear back from CP Rail.

Started working again. Yup, retirement is over. I got 3 days of job shadowing, basically kind of like On Job training but without the actual training. Pretty much don't do anything, just be a shadow and see how things are done to get an idea of what each job site is like. Today was the joy of working in the scummiest part of downtown winnipeg at a ( more or less) prison/correctional facility. Lots of nice people there (I say sarcastically) Wed and Thurs are at different locations/jobs so something different. Then I'm guessing, I will pick up some more work next week. So maye friday I will drink and work on my backyard. or work on the backyard and then drink...maybe. gotta do the yard work first. ^&$&&!!!! speaking of which , I forgot to cut the grass this evening. tomorrow is another day. Mr Dave
