I just received the Difco ballast car and was told the Kato decoder equipped NW-2 SP is on it's way. It's been a good day so far! Gene

Not trains, but it'll give you a very good idea why I have been "distracted"! We just got ourselves a new "state-of-the-art" sound system from Bose. Check this baby out!!! http://www.bose.com/controller?event=VIEW_PRODUCT_PAGE_EVENT&product=l1_m1_1b1 It is incredible! A complete revolution in stage sound! You actually set it up behind you!!! There is ABSOLUTELY NO feedback. For the first time a performer can hear exactly what they sound like AND what the audience is actually hearing! (Goodbye "Soundman"!) It's has 24 - 3" speakers in the pole. They are all at slightly different angles. Then there is the sub-woofer. The amp is in the base and the controls are under a flap along the straight area in the back. ONLY from the mind of Bose! Marc (of Max & Denise)

My buddy has two of those with 6 of the bass units. He uses them for his DJ business. They are a great sounding unit. CJ]:)

Whooooooo Baby! I can just hear those hooked up to a train sound system. Can you feel that power shake the room? That's why you really bought the tower, right Marc? B-)

CJ, They be awesome for a DJ set-up! SIX subs?!? WOW! Pete, Sounds like the loco is in your head! LoL. Sadly, I don't have any train-sounds equipment, but it would be sweet.... although 2 grand for train sounds is a tad extravagant, no? Marc

I found a couple MTL ortner hoppers from one seller with BIN so I bought 3. They'll show up after I'm gone. They are all C&O in the black/yellow scheme so I plan on removing the C&O markings and put my shortline on it and change the doors in it to the air-drop doors that were on the ones I saw back in Greenwood that were used for gypsum.

Ordered a couple MTL cars from LHS the other day. Conrail scale test car and a Chessie cyl hopper. I must be stupid ordering the C&O as it was listed at 28 USD. Guess I'll take that much more pleasure in painting out markings and patchjob it for CSX (like the one I saw here in a CN train) Patchjob D

I ordered the Great Northern hopper from M/T for this month, also thought about the Chessie but as you said the US price was bad enough with out the conversion to Aus dollars, apart from that, no new for now, ;)

Meanwhile....while the money pit was being repaired, I rented a car and traveled the dealerships. Jeep, Mazda, Pontiac and Chevy. Found a Chevy Optra station wagon, 2007, loaded to the gills and took it for a test ride up to the money controller. She loved it. SOLD!!!!!! SinceI didn't have to pay anything for the repairs to the Focus and Chevy gave me $2500 for the rusty old junque, and a good price plus some extras like undercoat and clearcoat and a 6 year/100,000km bumper to bumper warrantyand free tire replacement as long as I have the car serviced at the dealership......how could I argue. We will take delivery tomorrow night or maybe the next night. Depends on the time it takes to prep it. It's brick red and just what we wanted.....a small economical wagon. I took advantage of Kim's willingness to buy it now rather than wait for the 2008s. Yeah! I'm a Chevy man back in a Chevy again! SmileyCentral.com
