MT new collector series.

MT has another new series of box cars: Canadian Privinces and Territories. 13 in all will begin in June supposedly with British Columbia. I suppose they will eventually have a caboose and maybe an engine too. Update: Spoke to Joe at MT R&D yesterday and he confirmed that there will be a caboose and engine in this series. MT is looking into a LL C424 or something Canadian vs their own FT as the engine for this set. B-)

MT new collector series.

I just picked up a new limited production Bachmann Spectrum Consolidation in Canadian National colors. These were not available in the US. I know that MT will produce a diesel to pull those new Canadian cars, but I'm a steam man as you know. And yes this is all N scale. I'm contemplating a small shelf layout in the den just for the N scale. Well, I do have that Atlas Shay and a few cars for it to pull......;\ B-)

MT new collector series.

Yes I did and it is very small and has hardly anything in stock. They of course will order in anything you want, but that to me is just like driving to the on-line store instead of sitting on my butt and getting a better deal. Example: the best track they had in stock was HO sectional Atlas BRASS! No flex track in any scale. Three diesel Bachman N scale engines, the cheap starter ones and one LL Proto 1000, again cheap, diesel in HO. No glue, no paint, no WS ground foam either. It is more of a die cast store. Lots of that stuff. I won't be back. B-)

Another new MT collector series. http://www.4nscale.com/details.asp?p=15085 US Navy ships. No clue as to how many in this series. If they do an Army one, I know Dot will collect that set....right Dot? I still plan on running my Canadian series cars. B-)

"My" army cars are for a small area of the layout that is simply made up of my imagination. I doubt I will collect any series for it since I painted most of the cars myself and they are probably not "true" to the actual army sets. All are "runners" and none are collectable! Dot

MT new collector series.

Just received this from MT on the E-mail hotline. Get ready for two new exciting N scale specialty series launching this summer from Micro-Trains! In June, we’ll debut the first in a 13-car series commemorating the provinces and territories of Canada. The first release in the “Canadian Province & Territory Series” will feature British Columbia. Among many detailed decorative features, all releases in the series will include provincial or territorial flag, incorporation date, bird and flower. These stunning cars are based on a 50’ standard box car, with single Youngstown door and Coil Elliptic trucks. In keeping with the colors of the Canadian flag, the car is red with white sides and incorporates a graphic representation of the famous Canadian maple leaf symbol. Our U.S. Navy series launches in July and will showcase prominent Navy vessels from the past and present, with a unique silhouette rendering of the vessel’s class, official hull identification number, years of service, vessel emblem and U.S. Navy emblem. The first ship featured in this exciting new series is the USS Missouri, the legendary battleship upon which the armistice was signed that ended World War II. The U.S. Navy series will be presented on a 50’ standard box car with plug door and Dalman trucks, and decorated in Navy gray with a low black sill on each side. The vessel silhouette is black, while the U.S. Navy emblem is yellow and the vessel logo is recreated in full color. Both series will feature new releases bi-monthly, on an alternating monthly schedule. For a sneak preview, go to www.micro-trains.com, and click on “Coming Soon OK. So you knew about the two new series because I told you, but did you catch the "bi-monthly releases? That means that the Canadian series that I intend to acquire will take 26 months = 2 years plus one month. Talk about your "captive audience". WOW! Mocro-Trains propetuating their existence again! A very successful marketing scheme that has been effectively employed by larger firms such as Danbury Mint, Franklin Mint, and Hallmark. Neville Wilson Southwest FL
