Kids and model trains

Are there any kids in your life who have been influenced by your trains? Although he is only 2 my grandson would come first. He loves to be able to sit there and pick out witch engine to run, he loves to see them crash too. I'll put on two old Bachman engines and run them in opposite directions on the inner and outer loops. Then try to time it so I can hit the crossover switch causing a head-on collision. Cherrise's oldest son turns 14 this weekend and I've just recently found out they have an old HO set someplace. So he is getting one of my brass engines that I restored as he does appreciate quality things. Her boys have only scene photos of my layout and have been bugging Cherrise to bring over to see it. Mine thinks its cool and sees all the work I put into building layout and painting engines/cars but loses interest quickly after. He could run a train one day and back to cartoons the next. Can't force someone to like same interests/. Back to the plan of my railroad. Dave

I ran into a "kid" at the hardware store last week. I was looking for something for the layout and explained to this "kid", about 20 years old is my guess, and he jumped right in telling me about his around the ceiling of his bedroom HO layout. We had a good long talk and I invited him over to look at my stuff and run some trains. I'm still waiting to hear from him, but I think he will come over one day. So I'm not in a model RR vacuum. There is at least one other person up here who does trains. B-) & :x
