GD Decals

Now don't get excited! The Codfadda needs help again. I have been all over the web and can't find what I need; decals for the Gorre & Daphetid railroad. I am hoping that you guys in the real world can check out local hobby shops etc. for me to see if there are any available. I'm looking for them in HO scale, but will take them in any scale you can find. If you find them, buy them and I'll reimburse you. The desperate codfadda

Pete try these http://www.gdlines.com/links.html http://www.greatdecals.com/GregKomar.htm http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GandD/ (I decided not to use the G&D heralds off the ore car because the screen printing was not very good. I ordered the G&D decals from Greg Komar.) The statement was from a person that made ashay and got some G&D decals from one of the links above. Gene

Here is an HO passenger car on ebay also http://cgi.ebay.com/1ea-John-Allen-Gorre-and-Dapheted-MDC-Roundhouse-car_W0QQitemZ140202628470QQihZ0... maybe you can use it for reference if you have to make your own decals. Gene

Thanks Gene, I have been to all those sites and am waiting for an email reply from Komer. What I am hoping for is a scouring of actual hobby shops. Something I don't have up here. I could start caling every shop listed in MR but that would be a big cost and most sales people don't have the time to look through their stock of decals. Just got a reply and no luck. Oh, well. And I have no way to make the dacals. Yes I have several cars, so maybe I could determine the proper type font and get a general letter set and do each letter on at a time, but what a pain! Keep looking for me guys. I know there were some available at the Springfield, MA train show that just happened, but don't know the dealer. RATS! B-)

Pete scroll down the site and on the left hand side they list miscellaneous decals. Komar is listed there as one of the dealers they deal with. Gene

Now that I opened the Misc list I see that you already found out that G&D is not listed under Komar. Maybe they have a way to get them though.

A couple of pages that may interest you... An information page on how to apply decals etc. It looks like maybe this fellow has decals that might be hard to find.Look at his new railroad, must be nice to have money for a new building and a new layout like this. http://mopac1.tripod.com/oddballs3.htm Here is a list of manufactures clubs etc that might be of use to folks. http://www.modelrailroadnews.com/pages/links.html#Anchor-Manufacturers-44257 Just some info to look at.It's one hell of a long winter and I am getting bored another 30 to 50 Cm's coming in this evening and will run for approx 36 hours they say. Just about worn-out my snowblower this year. Jack

Pete, on the website newsletter that arrived from Model Railroader magazine there is a part where Cocy Grivino gives updates on products. in the latest one with a review of a hopper, brass eched parts and weathering with india ink there is also a letter re John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid RR and a trip to MR's editors office where the only know steam loco from the G&D is displayed. You might want to check it out. Maybe the link below will work. http://www.trains.com/mrr/default.aspx?c=a&id=2388 Gene Thanks Gene. I usually look at those links as I get the news letter too. I'm in the process of creating several G&D cars. You'll all see them when they are finished. B-) -- Edited by ginzokid at 03/28/2008 3:51 AM PDT
