You will need to give us better information.
"I can only use recent photos" can mean a dozen different things - you can't find them; you get an error; the photos are not in a compatible format; the photos are the wrong size; etc. etc. etc.
A concise description explaining exactly what you are trying to do, how you are trying to do it, and what happens when you try will make it a lot more likely that someone here can help.
