Hi
I am trying to get the eBay app to automatically open when I click the link in an eBay email message in gmail.
If the phone is set to use Chrome as the default browser it behaves and the app opens.
If the default browser is set to Firefox then it opens as what appears to be a webpage within Gmail and then in the top right if you follow the three dots there are two options, Share or Open in Firefox(under the open in Firefox it says powered by Firefox). If you select open in Firefox it then loads the app with the item the original link was referencing.
Any ideas how to force it to go directly to the app from the link in the email message without the intermediate step? The app is set to always open for supported URLs and the URL that makes up the link would match the supported URLs.
I know I could just use eBay on Firefox either on the mobile or desktop site but I prefer to use the app.
Thanks

There is a setting about the eBay app that can be seen using your device's Setting Manager.
Under Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default -- there is a setting called "Open supported links" holding that down gives three choices: "Open in this app" "Ask every time" and "Don't open in this app". Choose "Open in this app".
After doing that, eBay item links in a browser or mail program should open in the app, I believe.

Thanks for that but this is already set. The URLs are all listed, and appear to match based on the URLs in the messages, and the setting is "Open in this App".

I have the same issue, the only difference that I have Samsung Internet as default browser. If I set default to Chrome - all is fine.
Android 10 on Galaxy S9.
