Not able to log in due to update required

Thanks eBay for screwing me and other users over.

I can’t log into the app due to needing an update. I can’t update to newer iOS due to my phone being an older model…..

 I guess eBay doesn’t want my business after using them for years.

According to a post on the UK community boards, the latest version of the eBay app requires Android 10 or later, or iOS 17 or later.

If you cannot upgrade your operating system or find an older version of the app that works with your current operating system, you should still be able to use a browser to go to ebay.co.uk instead.

If eBay browser links are opening in the Android version of the app automatically, you can disable that by going to your device Settings: Apps: eBay: Open by default: Opens supported links and choosing "Don't open in the app". iOS users can tap and hold an eBay browser link and choose "Don't open in the app".

I tried deleting and reinstalling but the one that says latest compatible version but it doesn’t work when opened it says I’m I need to update. All it did was give me an app I’m no longer logged into.

if eBay and it’s sellers don’t want my business to screw users over like this then fine I’ll shop elsewhere after being a loyal customer since the start.

- Requires iOS 17 or later, but there are directions for iOS 16 users to download an older version of the app

If you have iOS 15 or Android 9 and cannot update to a compatible OS, you can still access eBay from a web browser on your device, and you'll probably want to delete the app so links open in your browser instead of the app.
