Invalid Request when signing in

I'm trying to install the app on a new tablet but can't log in. 

I'm on Android 11.  It's the newest version of the app.  I've tried several uninstalls/reinstalls.  I've cleared cache and data and tried again.  I've granted all permissions.  I've tried using email and user name with my password which has been checked as correct numerous times.

Every attempt results in the message "Invalid Request."

I've found several previous mentions of this problem on the forum but no definitive solution.

Any advice?

I'm loath to reset my password in case I can't log in anywhere.

It sounds like you have tried just about everything I have seen recommended.

The only thing I can think to check is to make sure you actually do have the latest version of the eBay app: 6.71.0.5

It is possible that your new tablet actually has an old version of Google Play Store or Google Play Services, which could prevent you from getting the latest version of the eBay app, and which could actually deliver an older version that appears the be the latest version (since it would seem to indicate that no newer versions are available).

Google Play Services is up to date and my ebay app is version 6.72.0.4.  It may be something specific to this ROM (I've posted on the developer's XDA forum thread) but frankly, some of the changes brought in by Android 10 & 11 in general have screwed up several of my most used apps so I may go back to Android 9.
